5 Mantras for a Joyful Life

Speak your desires into the world. Longing is a prayer that is both strategic and hopeful. Yes, you are a power. Every thought that gently crosses your mind creates movement. Recognize this movement for what it is: worthy, radiant, illuminating, healing. Love. Your cup is full.?
Mantra 1: Today I love myself a little more than I did yesterday.?
Loving yourself is a lifelong process.?Think of it as something that needs to breathe, something that ebbs and flows like water, that requires forgiveness and patience. Like any relationship, the one you have with yourself will consist of ups and downs, small betrayals, big miracles, and rewarding joy. Be brave and honest enough with yourself to meet those realities when they appear. With time you’ll get to know yourself better, and thereby learn to trust and deeply love the things that make you, you— your talents, your successes, your bad habits, your good habits, your stumbles, and your core beliefs.?
Everyday in every way I’m getting better and better.
Mantra 2: Enjoying myself is a life purpose. Feeling joy is my job.
Feeling stressed and miserable is not more noble than enjoying life. Happiness is an elixir. Stress and anxiety are poisons. Give yourself the sustenance you need to properly grow. You’re here, on this Earth, in this body, with these opportunities. Why not choose to enjoy yourself? Why not recklessly chase joy? Squeeze every ounce of goodness you can out of this life. Slow down and relish your existence. You’ll be making the world a better place in the process. When you feel good, you create more good in the world. Love begets love.?
Mantra 3: I approach everything, even small things, with love and acceptance.
Purpose doesn’t always look like purpose. Whatever you want to do can be done with deep intention. Smile at a stranger, take care of your dog, be impeccable with your word, fiercely believe in yourself. Your life is composed of thousands of these small, purposeful jobs. All are equally important. Everything returns to love. As Mother Theresa said, “Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love.”
Mantra 4: Despite my fears, I feel hopeful for the future of the world.?
The world has been through so much. But people are resilient. And good and love always rise. What carries us through the darkness is our hope. Believing deeply in the greater good is the saving grace that supplies this hope. Being afraid, however, is okay. Even natural. What isn’t okay is allowing this fear to suffocate your life. You have many jobs to do, and perhaps the most important is to continue. Continue living, continue breathing, continue putting one foot in front of the other— all while loving yourself through every step. The consistency is good for you. The job requires all of you. Your life creates divine movement. This movement is a kind of love, and it multiplies with every good thought and prayer that gently crosses your mind. Yes, you are a power. Recognize this movement for what it is: worthy, radiant, illuminating, relentless, healing. Your cup is full.?
Mantra 5: Everyday In Every Way I’m Getting Better And Better
One of my favourite, all round confidence-building and life improving mantras. Around a century ago a Frenchman named?Emile Coué?coined a phrase that could change your life.
It’s an often quoted phrase that you’ve no doubt heard before, and one that initially doesn’t seem terribly remarkable.
Coué was a psychologist and pharmacist who believed that most mental and physical illness was a result of the person’s thinking.
He discovered that he could help the recovery of a patient simply by praising the effectiveness of the medicine to the patient when he gave it to them.
We are often our own worst enemy. We frequently think negative thoughts and over time these negative thoughts take their toll. They taint how we see the world. Autosuggestion, or affirmations, can counteract this.
Coué experimented with different phrases for different conditions but his most well known affirmation is:
Everyday in every way I’m getting better and better.
The Power of Mantras
Mantras can change you, and in surprising ways. They’re a tool you can use to influence the subconscious mind. But like any tool, they need to be built and used correctly.
The beauty of these mantras is in it’s construction. It implies that:
Make Mantras a practice, don’t leave them as theory
But I will reiterate:?it won’t work unless you give it a really good go. You have to really do it as well as you possibly can. You don’t have to shout it out at that top of your voice, but you should say it with conviction and sincerity.
It will probably feel a bit weird at first – but it’s definitely worth it!
