The 5 Levels of Intention

The 5 Levels of Intention

There is a very simple equation for life. What you pay attention to (aka what you’re aware of) plus where you put intention in (aka what you think, say, do, and believe) equals the coincidences that happen in your life. Intention has levels, however, which means that we need to further examine how we are utilizing our time and activities. I’m a big believer in being a “Student of Your Calendar”, which is an intentional approach that analyzes the calendar with lenses of productivity, accessibility, and gratitude.

So many people tell me that they are doing “all the right things” but not receiving their desired results, and it is their level of intention which is holding them back.

Level 1: What you do

There is much more to the levels of intention than simply taking action. Even taking the right actions can fall short, if we are not intentional about those actions.

Level 2: What you speak

The next level of intention is sound. We need to speak our intentions out loud, to ourselves and to others. One of my favorite ways to adhere to this level is to utilize mantras to reinforce my plans. Say the who, what, and how of your goals as often as possible and remember that asking for assistance is an essential part of this level, too.

Level 3: What you think

Thought moves faster than the speed of light, sound, and action, so putting our intention on our thoughts is crucial. We need to ensure that our thoughts are positive and helpful, so apply the Cancel, Clear, Connect strategy when you’re experiencing repetitive negative thoughts.

Level 4: What you believe

Belief is a higher level of thought that becomes a part of your subconscious and unconscious being. Many of us hold limiting beliefs, which create resistance in our pursuit of our potential, which is why we need to examine how what we do, speak, and think is impacting our perspective. A person who truly believes in themself, their product, or service will always be able to guarantee their work.

Level 5: What you feel

The final level of intention is what we feel, otherwise known as our intuition. Even while utilizing the other levels of intention, a lack of awareness or recognition can rob us of success. Raise your awareness and focus on the times where your feelings are not congruent with what you are doing, saying, thinking, and believing. We cannot out-logic our feelings, so during these times we need to stop and remind ourselves of the goodness that we are connected to in the world and allow for ourselves to be realigned.

This does not work for me, I have 100% positive intentions and nothing good has happened to me, (exaggeration) but it feels that way.

TOTALLY dig your post, David Meltzer. BUT I'd probably switch the order and here's why. 4) should be #1 BELIEF is paramount. If I believe something's POSSIBLE - I may or may not accomplish it, but I'll at least try. But if I believe something's IMpossible - I won't ever make an attempt to do it. 3) should be #2 What we THINK is EXTREEEMLY important. I suspect the only reason we keep this as a separate item, is because the THINKING thing is our "self talk." And if our self talk is negative - - whether about our selfs, other people, or other things, ODDS ARE VERY GOOD - success AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN. 2) moving to #3 SPEAKing. We can speak things into existence or out of it. Not only to ourselves, but in our attempts to enroll/sell others in our vision. 1) moving to #4 ACTIONS. James Malinchak displayed a very important concept in one of his events a decade back. "Practice does NOT make perfect. Perfect practice makes perfect." Our actions need to be the RIGHT actions in order to produce the right (or intended) RESULTS. I can swing a golf club all day long, but if I'm doing it wrong, that little white ball ain't going where I want. 5) remains 5 Sometimes we JUST GOTTA listen to our GUT. #GuruRichard LOVES THIS Hava great day
