5 lessons learnt from my family
1. Be Unique. My mom emphasized this at an early age, I didn’t understand its significance then. I remember as a 13 year old I wanted a pair of jeans which were trending, I asked her if I could have it, she said I could, if I could tell why I wanted it and not all the other kids in class. It’s something that stuck with me.
PS- I learnt making a business case early in life, Thanks mom!
2. Confidence & honesty- You’re your biggest commodity, if you don’t believe in yourself, no one else will, confidence is contagious! No one wants to put money on a sales person who doesn't believe in his own product.
3. Humility & Gratitude - This comes from my dad, he has always been a big believer of being modest and giving back to people and society as our civic responsibility.
4. Ability to take risk- This one is inspired by my sister. I adore her carefree attitude and her innate sense of things falling in place.
5. Value of relationships- Growing up in a collectivist family with my Nana Nani (Indian name for maternal grandparents) I realized the importance of human relationship in ones life at an early stage. I owe the life I am living to the lessons they instilled in me as a young child.
