5 Lessons I’ve Learned Along the Way at Genpact

Starting a new role is exciting, but it can also feel a bit overwhelming. Since joining 简柏特 , I’ve picked up a few key lessons that have helped me adapt and thrive in this dynamic environment. Here are some thoughts that might help if you're starting fresh:

1. Blend with the Culture, Don’t Fight It

Observe closely. Notice how people communicate, collaborate, and make decisions. You can’t change the company culture overnight, but you can adapt and find your own space within it. The more you align, the smoother your journey.

2. Don’t Wait for Feedback—Ask for It

Waiting for feedback can hold you back. Seek it out actively, even when things get tough. It’s uncomfortable sometimes, but it's the fastest way to grow. Improvement doesn’t come from comfort zones.

3. Listen More, Speak Less

When you listen, you learn. It’s easy to share your point of view, but understanding other's perspectives is where real progress happens. The best collaboration comes from valuing all voices at the table.

4. Steer Clear of Office Politics

Politics can easily become a distraction in any workplace, but I've found that focusing on transparency and teamwork is the best way to steer clear of it. It's important to align with a company that fosters openness and collaboration.

5. Talk to People from Other Departments

Don’t stay in your bubble. Build connections across the company and understand how different teams operate. The broader your perspective, the fewer conflicts you'll encounter—and the more you'll learn.
