What are some of your foundational activities to create the life, career, or business you desire?
Some of mine are phrases or quotes that serve as life mottos e.g "Challenges are Chances for Change"
Another is to use KEYWORDS to drive focus and action.
My keyword for September was "CAST".
The word's significance and meaning are actions I decide and define to align with the goal I seek to achieve.
Reflecting on how I have taken action in line with my keyword CAST, I came up with 5 Lessons To Excel Quickly in Overcoming Challenges, which I would like to share with you, to help set the tone and prepare for the last quarter of the year
Before diving into the lessons, let's talk about my approach. For CAST.
I choose to define it as CAST OFF, CAST UPON, and CAST INTO.
Cast Off: Releasing What's Holding Me Back
Letting go of the limiting beliefs, habits, and activities that no longer served me was my focus for the month. As an introvert dealing with unrealistic expectations is common. I took time to evaluate my activities against my introversion needs and other needs at this stage of my life as a middle-aged woman. I then consciously choose to start letting go of limiting beliefs or habits. It's a great start.
Cast Into: Embrace New Opportunities With Intention
This was exciting and terrifying in equal measure, however, it was useful to take stock and look at fresh opportunities, relationships, and activities that would breathe new energy and refined purpose into my life and business. I also leaned into my faith and the story of Peter in the Bible, who got frustrated from continuously trying and trying, but then took one more leap of faith, and his persistence paid off. I have learned during this period to persist and overcome. The new opportunities were more about looking at what was already there with a fresh perspective and doing things differently.
Cast Upon: Trust The Process
Learning to trust myself and a higher power to follow through with the process of growth was crucial. This is where I am learning to "cast upon" by having faith in God, and trusting that my journey will ultimately lead me where I want to go and cause me to grow exponentially and become the best I can be. So instead of spending time worrying, I am building emotional toughness and resilience through trust, faith, and action.
From these definitions, I have distilled 5 Key Lessons to share with you
Lesson 1: There is power in choosing to be introverted
Introversion is not a burden box or barrier. It is who you are. You don't need to be cured of it, but you need to choose to accept yourself for who you are. Stop wishing for a cure start with willing yourself to act and win as your introverted self. Check out this post HERE to find out more about how to apply this lesson
Lesson 2: Channel Your Energy by Shifting from Survival mode to Growth mode
Overcoming challenges requires moving beyond survival instincts to a growth mindset. Don't just try to get by, actively seek growth and challenges as opportunities to develop tenacity, resilience, and mental toughness. To help with this lesson I coined the phrase, "Don't just Wish it, Will it" You can check the post on it HERE
Lesson 3: Use Your Strengths As Anchors
Do you know your natural strengths? Do you know your genius zone? Do you know your sweet spot? When you know your strengths and get familiar with how to use them unapologetically you will have it as an anchor for your soul to develop quiet confidence.
In the past as an entrepreneur, I felt like anything that came my way I could do it and I took on way more than was necessary. Now I have core services I offer, the core areas I am interested in developing expertise in, and speak on these areas predominately.
If you are unfamiliar with how to use your strengths as anchors or not sure where to start, I offer services that will help you make headway.
Lesson 4: Leverage Your Inner Circle for Support
Introverts like hanging out in smaller groups, and most importantly we love deep connections. This is what having an inner circle is all about.
Cast into the strength of your closest relationships for support during challenging times.

This is where being vulnerable might be uncomfortable, but when you have determined who is in your inner circle you know who to trust. There are friends that I can go to and be my most vulnerable self and they listen and speak the trust to me in love.
My husband is also in my inner circle, although he feels vulnerable telling me the truth as he doesn't want to have a row ??. But after 27 years of marriage, he is braver and willing to take the heat ??
My coach is in my inner circle and boy do I get great results from my sessions.
As I mentioned above. I have learned that "when I reach the end of myself, I can cast my care on God because he is the ultimate power". So for me, God is part of my inner circle and I spend time praying for answers.
Who is in your inner circle?
Lesson 5: Celebrate Progress, Not Perfection
This is a big one that will help you bounce back when things get tough or don't go your way.
It is hard to find things to celebrate when you put a lot of effort into something and it doesn't work, or you fail to land an opportunity, or life has thrown you some curveballs and you are in pain, struggling with doubt, and don't know how you will make it from one day to the next.
If these all sound too familiar and triggering right now, I encourage you to find time each day and just sit quietly and take deep breaths in and out to calm yourself down.
Recognise that being alive and breathing is a chance that things will still go well, so celebrate the progress of making it to another day, and be grateful.
For every attempt you make at achieving your goal also remember that "done is better than perfect"
Conclusion
In conclusion, remember that you are innately resilient, and courageous actions help you overcome challenges quicker than you think.
My hope for you is that as we end Q3 of 2024 and move into Q4 of 2024, may you rise up each day and let your motto be "YES I CAN"
