5 key trends for building a future-ready workforce

As the CEO of Crehana, I believe that the HR industry is on the cusp of a significant transformation. Over the next few years, we will see several trends that will reshape the way we manage and develop talent. Here are my thoughts on the five key trends that will impact HR in 2023 and beyond.

The Rise of AI in HR: Revolutionizing Recruitment, Training, and Development

Artificial Intelligence (AI) will revolutionize the way we recruit, train and develop employees. In the next few years, we will see AI being used to automate recruitment processes, reduce unconscious bias, and personalize employee training and development plans. By leveraging AI, HR departments will be able to make more data-driven decisions and provide a better employee experience. According to a report by PwC, 72% of business leaders believe that AI will be fundamental to the future of HR, and 44% say that it has already transformed their HR function.

The Power of Data Analytics: Optimizing Employee Performance

Secondly, We will see a greater emphasis on using Data Analytics, to predict future trends and optimize employee performance and productivity. This will help HR departments make informed decisions about recruitment, retention, and employee engagement, and will enable them to identify issues before they become problems. A report by Deloitte shows that the use of people analytics has increased by 242% in the last three years, with 69% of surveyed companies rating people analytics as an important priority. The report also found that high-performing companies were five times more likely to use data analytics in HR than low-performing companies.

Upskilling and Reskilling: Preparing Your Workforce for the Future

The third trend is Upskilling and reskilling will become increasingly important for companies to remain competitive in the rapidly changing job market. With new technologies emerging and industries evolving, HR departments must prioritize employee learning and development. Companies that invest in upskilling and reskilling their workforce will be better equipped to meet future demands while also boosting employee engagement and retention. According to a report by McKinsey, upskilling and reskilling will be critical in the coming years, with an estimated 375 million workers globally needing to switch occupations or acquire new skills by 2030.

Leveling Up Employee Engagement with Gamification

Fourthly, I believe that gamification will be an increasingly powerful tool for HR departments in 2023. Gamification can help enhance employee engagement, motivation, and learning, and can be used in areas such as employee training, performance management, and rewards and recognition. By leveraging gamification, HR departments can create a more fun and engaging work environment that fosters creativity and innovation. Gartner conducted a study in which they found that gamification is now being used in more than 50% of corporate processes, and that it has been effective in improving employee engagement, motivation, and learning outcomes. Gamification can increase employee engagement by 48%, improve knowledge retention by 25%, and increase employee motivation by 22%.

The Future of Work is Remote: Adapting HR Policies for a More Agile Workforce

Finally, remote work will continue to grow in popularity, and HR departments will need to adapt their policies and practices to support this new work structure. This will require a new approach to employee management, with a focus on collaboration, communication, and performance management. By adopting new technologies and processes that support remote work, HR departments can build a more agile and resilient workforce. According to a report by Gartner, 82% of company leaders plan to allow their employees to work remotely at least part of the time, even after the COVID-19 pandemic is over. As such, HR departments will need to recognize the growing demand for flexible work options, and implement policies that allow for remote work to attract and retain top talent.

The HR industry is undergoing a significant transformation, and in the next few years, we will see several key trends that will reshape the way we manage and develop talent. HR leaders must be proactive in adapting their strategies and practices to stay ahead of these changes. At Crehana, we are committed to helping our clients navigate these changes and build a workforce that is agile, engaged, and future-ready.
