Recently, i came across 5 stories that talk about 5 Muslim women who stand out, each in her respective fields, proving:
- What women can do in general (if you still have any doubts)
- How Islam can be religion of openness, creativity, innovation, advancement, entrepreneurship, women empowerment - of course
- How each one of us - man or woman - can make their dream come true
- How we can make the best out of whatever situation we are put in!
Former finance lawyer Hajera Memon created Shade 7, a global Islamic storybook company, to meet her “heartfelt desire to establish a long-term source of knowledge, which would inspire children to learn more about Islam and their relationship with God.”
Swedish fashion designer Iman Aldebe started designing turbans as a way to be less conspicuous in the West, which has been growing increasingly hostile to hijabis and Muslims. Now, she has successfully managed to break into the mainstream market with her haute couture turbans, which are worn as fashion statements in Sweden, Dubai, New York and Paris.
Menna Shahin, a 29-year-old pharmacist from Egypt created "She Travels" which went from travel-centric group on Facebook to a support group for women who wanted to become better versions of themselves.
