What did I learn from MIT?
During five days I will share with you the 5 top learnings that may change the way you look at digital transformation in your business - directly from the MIT “Implementing Industry 4.0: Leading Change in Manufacturing and Operations” course for executives to implement large scale technological change in the manufacturing and operations environment.
I invite you to join the 5 main outcomes - each day one lesson:
- Learning 1: Untap the “hidden factory” capacity of your processes
- Learning 2: The system with the faster O-O-D-A loop will prevail
- Learning 3: Three perspectives to be taken into consideration for a successful organizational change
- Learning 4: It is a journey and it is not complex at all
- Learning 5: Straight answer for the most asked questions in transformation journey
Learning 5: Straight answer for the most asked questions in transformation journey
During the program the most common discussion arose around success factors for the implementation of large scale technological change in the manufacturing and operations environment. Almost all of the questions could be answered by a straight answer.
● I4.0 is too big and complex. ?? Poor scope down
● It does not apply to our reality ?? Poor preparation
● I am not sure if we are on the right way ?? Poor problem definition
● I do not know where to start ?? Poor problem definition
● I do not know the next steps and that is no motivation to go forward ?? You didn’t follow the value stream
● The initiatives I am running are constantly being blocked ?? Poor stakeholder analysis and problem statement
● I do not have resources ?? You did it all wrong
Another teaser for the program you can find under the video “The 7 System Principles You Need to Know Before Implementing IIoT” where John Carrier discusses the seven most common systematic errors your company is likely to make when attempting to integrate the Industrial Internet of Things into your existing system.
To conclude the serie with the 5 lessons, I would like to emphasize that I have made the right choice deciding to come to MIT. It will tremendously support the way I am running our I 4.0 initiatives. The access to quality knowledge and innumerous insights are crucial to manage and develop innovative ways to solve complex challenges and to adapt to change.
