The 5 hidden ‘Cs’ that can make or break your business.

The 5 hidden ‘Cs’ that can make or break your business.

I have been passionate about business dynamics from a young age. From starting my first business with my mom at age12 to working for a large fortune 500 company, I had the priviledge to watch how to do business well, ( or collapse) from startups, to medium scale, to very large corporations.

I am now avidly coaching executives and entrepreneurs from across the globe, and it gives me a chance to observe their own dynamics. If you are an entrepreneur, operating a business can feels, at times, like walking across a minefield.

It is undeniable that Cash is always on the radar of any company, not to say always an emergency focus at times. Today, I wanted to zoom on the hidden forces driving cash trends. As Keith Cunnigham says all the time “ In times of crisis, cash is still the king “.

In fact in a note during the pandemic in an attempt to support business owners, Keith Cunnigham once wrote “?In business, oxygen is cash and cash flow. When your cash becomes low or cash flow lurches into negative territory, your survival is dictated by how quickly and effectively you address this problem. Delaying or minimizing the fix, or hoping the cash supply lines are quickly restored and things get back to “normal” is a prescription for a painful death.”

This is how crutial Cash is…. Today I want to focus on 5 hidden forces that can contribute to growth, revenue, but as well cash.

# 1 Clarity —

Clarity — YOu MUST have clarity on?first?of where you are precisely in your business and how your business is doing, it is crucial. We tend to focus on the gap, on the brakes on the chain, on the staff missing on the unhappy client but we rarely take the time to assess?precisely and accurately?where we are and where we want to be, with total clarity. Owners and entrepreneurs may have a rough guess of where they are and they not necessarily have the instinct to pull out their KPIs and look at where they are performing as a company. Having a vision and mapping out the 3,6,9 months and even 5 years plan is really an undeniable weapon that very rarely entrepreneurs have at hand —

# 2 Consistency —

A business exists really to produce RESULTS, and the key is understand that if this is true, the results MUST be predictable! consistent, recurrent. If systems and processes are not consistent internally, then consistent results can’t be achieved, and when this happens, you are definitely loosing. Loosing cash and loosing clients that cannot satisfied themselves with an unequal service or result. Consistency in what you do in your company, and it will ultimately create a consistent product or service.

3 # Always on Customer Centric approach —

If there is one thing that affects directly results is the way you serve your clients — period — we know that focusing on the client and serving them at the highest level, is the only way to sustainably grow your business. If you are a business owner, know that the competition is fierce. Only if you overdeliver your clients, you can retain them and create a long-term relationship with them. The customer centric approach needs to be present internally in the way you recruit, onboard, train, measure, retain and reward your employees. It is an essential element of any business, that solidify the inner activity with the external transactions your business create with your clients.

# 4 Congruency —

You must be consistent and at the same time congruent!. Congruent means that your values align in everything you do. Meaning if you market yourself as something you embody you must be congruent with all your decisions you take. You can’t support the environment with zero-emissions for example, and not considering recycled packaging by same token.

# 5 Culture — The Ultimate weapon

Culture, such simple word and such a powerful weapon. Nowadays Culture is everything. You see it at Apple, Google, Salesforce and so on. Building a culture internally and externally is the force that will 10-X your business very, very quickly. Internally, Culture attracts employees , create a sense of belonging that creates higher performance and results. Externally, it creates a community that gravitates towards the brand, those convinced buyers become then your own advocates, Your own marketing channel in itself, not only they use the brand but they embody the brand. You know what i mean by those long time clients and early adopters. They use your brand as a way to shape their own identity with it. Culture will make your company or brake it if you dont pay attention to build a strong foundation.

Are you ready to take action on these 5? Which one your business is strong on ? Which one is your business lacking the most? — Make a plan and act, fast.
