2. Resting heart rate: How hard your heart has to work to pump blood through your body.
Goal: 50-70 bpm
3. Fasting blood glucose: How much sugar is in your blood. Crucial for identifying early signs of insulin resistance or diabetes.
Goal: < 100 mg/dL
4. Cholesterol levels: How clogged your blood vessels are. We have LDL Cholesterol and HDL Cholesterol. We generally want LDL to be lower and HDL to be higher. Tracking this can again reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes. An additional ApoB test can provide better insights into how clogged your blood vessels are.
Goal: LDL <100 mg/dL, HDL >40 mg/dL
5. Waist to Hip ratio: Indicates your body’s fast distribution. The higher the ratio, the more fat you have around your belly, which increases your risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and other chronic conditions.
Goal: < 0.9
These metrics combined will provide a good picture of your health and indicate your risk for the most common cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, certain types of cancer, etc.
