5 Habits to kick off your 2025 Fitness Campaign

5 Habits to kick off your 2025 Fitness Campaign

Wow, what a cracking start to 2025 around our 18 LTYB studios. There are many first time LTYB Members who are starting their journey, there are of course our rock solid LTYBERS who are super consistent with their training and then there are many past LTYB Members who are returning to training.

It is a super exciting time for everyone as there is always great optimism about the year ahead from a health and fitness viewpoint. As a brand, this is our 24th year going through this period and we feel members are only getting better at sticking to routines and getting results long term v searching for the quick fixes.

In this short blog that hopefully gets in front of around 10,000 eyes on our database, we have 5 simple tips that can help you not only work towards your results but build sustainable training habits.

Ok, that is enough of the small talk, here are our 5 best tips for anyone either starting at LTYB or restarting. (If you are flying and well established in routines, these may also help)

?

  1. Plan for consistent training times and volume- If you have ever played structured sport, there are often set training times and games. Without hesitation, you know you need to be there Tuesday and Thursday from X to Y time and play Saturday. Imagine if there was no structured time for training and games? There wouldn’t be a sport. Yes, training at a fitness studio is not sport but the synergy is the same. If you can have a plan when you train and execute consistency, that is brilliant habit forming.
  2. Slowly build up- I feel this is where many people fail. They go into the start of the journey with SO much enthusiasm and want to achieve the world in a short time. Most people who start are de-conditioned, therefore to get conditioned, it takes time. People should never increase intensity by more than a few % each session. Build up slow, pull up well and back up workouts.
  3. Set 1 Lifestyle goal at a time- This is massive!! Even if you train 4 times a week which is 180 minutes, there is 10,008 minutes per week. The 180mins of training is not enough to achieve your goals. Nutrition, sleep, recovery and other lifestyle choices build your holistic game. Set 1 goal outside of training, once you nail that habit, set another one. It maybe, drink 300ML of water before your 5.30am workout, it maybe walk the dog for 20 mins, avoid eating after 5pm, cut out soft drink, avoid Alcohol Monday-Friday. Over time, you are building an A grade game.
  4. Improve fitness IQ by learning- This one is underrated but important. Aim to be a student of health, fitness, training and lifestyle. The more you learn, the better choices you make. There are different theories but one theory is we have to make 200 decisions per day that are health and fitness related, therefore the more education, the better the choices. These choices maybe, what should I eat in each meal, should I have sauce with that? Should I be lazy and take the nearest car park at the shopping centre etc. You get it!
  5. Keep yourself Accountable- One the reasons why LTYB works SO well is because members are accountable to a session time. If members cancel a session, it isn’t just a small fee, but no-one wins (Sure, there are emergencies that prevent people from training) as the trainer is waiting for you, depending on the time and studio but cancelling often means someone else who could have trained etc. Be accountable to training, be accountable to your goals, share your goals with loved ones or friends etc.

?

In closing, we have found if people starting training and can execute between 10-13 sessions in the first 30 days, there is a high % chance of sustaining training as part of our members lifestyles.

In reverse, if members don’t get out of the blocks for one reason or another and execute 4-6 sessions in the first month, it is more of a challenge, however 4-6 sessions is much better than 0. Therefore, if you can plan ahead and get through the first month, you can be elite for what you want to achieve.

We would like to wish you a massive good luck on your journey and thank you for choosing and trusting LTYB to help you achieve your goals.
