It’s Actually Cake
At first it was just a few random reels on Instagram, but now the “Is it Cake?” meme has taken over the industry. We’re seeing stunning 3D cakes showcasing elaborate pastry projects with unmeasurable talent. Honestly, this trend is super cool and it totally blows our mind how unbelievably talented some people are. In fact it's so trendy that Netflix has a whole show dedicated to this delicious art form. What do you guys prefer, elaborate cakes or a nice simple slice?
Zero Proof Spirits
Dry January is super popular, with many using it as a way to reset their livers and detox their bodies after drinking throughout the holiday season. Well, this trend looks like it’s actually here to stay! There are a bunch of new brands out there, including Acid League, Mockingbird Spirit and Seedlip developing alcohol free spirits for those of us who prefer their drinks with zero proof.?

Homemade Pasta
Who here was part of the at-home bread-making craze at the start of the pandemic? Well, it looks like there is a new trend on the block. As people seek to challenge themselves more, bread has been replaced with pasta (at least it’s still in the carbs family!). At this rate, 2022 is going to see a lot more homemade fresh pasta and a lot more flour (still) flying off the shelves.
Vegan Seafood
Vegans can rejoice everywhere knowing that most restaurants can safely cater to their needs. Lately we are seeing a huge array of different plant-based options at the fingertips of every vegan. Gone are the days of choosing the lettuce-bun or solitary bean burger option on menus. In 2022, more brands are developing new plant-based alternatives to chicken, beef, and now seafood. Maybe next up we will see an all-you-can-eat vegan sushi buffet!?

At home gardening
The pandemic has certainly changed the way we not only consume and make food but also how we grow it! With a mixture of supply chain issues and well… plenty of time on our hands, lots of people have been testing whether or not they have a green thumb. This year we’re sure to see an increase in small-scale urban agriculture. Let’s be real, how many of us actually have a green thumb though??
