#1 Nobody (2021)
This movie starring Bob Odenkirk, was released by Universal Pictures in 2021, and took full advantage of Winnipeg's physical diversity. It is action-packed with a barrage of fists, gunfire and squealing tires, and is a real testament to the crew who worked on it. Take a look:
Scene filmed inside the Millineum Centre.
Scene filmed in the Whyte Ridge residential suburb in Winnipeg at 20 Shillingstone Rd.
Scene filmed in Ducharme Bros. Design facilities, a furniture maker in the Logan area of Winnipeg (935 Henry Ave).
Scene filmed by the Bank of Montreal on Winnipeg's Main Street.
#2 Shall We Dance?
If you don’t love a rom-com, what’s wrong with you? Okay, that’s a joke, but we do love this classic rom com—especially the scenes on Riverwood Avenue, South Drive and in our Fort Garry neighborhood.
In case you missed this 2004 film and its star-studded line-up (Richard Gere, Jennifer Lopez and Susan Sarandon), the story is about an estate lawyer (Gere) who registers for ballroom dancing lessons after seeing a woman (Lopez) through the windows of a dance studio. It was produced by Simon Fields and distributed by Miramax.
Dance scenes were shot at the Ted Motyka dance studio in the Exchange District.
#3 A Dog’s Purpose
Released by Universal Pictures in 2017, this feature-length film has a special place in our hearts. We love the unusual story about a reincarnated dog almost as much as we love seeing so many familiar locations: Winnipeg as well as the nearby towns of Brandon, Virden and Minnedosa.?This film was a co-production between Amblin Entertainment, Reliance Entertainment, Walden Media, and Pariah Entertainment Group.

The goriest scenes were shot inside the city's?Millennium Centre.

#5 Burden of Truth
Burden of Truth, a 34 x 1-hour drama series, does a great job showcasing Manitoba! If you need to capture a small-town feel, take a look at this show. Starring Kristin Kreuk and Winnipeg-born Peter Mooney, this series depicts a female Toronto-based lawyer returning to Millwood, her hometown, for a legal case. Millwood is a fictional town, but really it is a composite of many smaller towns around Winnipeg.
