#5: Elegant New Build. This house at the corner of Circle and Penrose is still under construction, but I already love the interesting, asymmetrical volumes and modest scale. It fits right in. Good friends of mine are the owners/designers/builders so I suppose it's not surprising that I like it so much.

#4: Spanish Stunner. Man, I love Spanish-style houses. This one at the corner of Circle and Hilldon is just a big rectangle, but all the little details (deeply set windows, tile roof, Juliet balconies, gorgeous tile entryway) turn it into an absolute gem.

#3: WTF??? Obviously I'm being a bit facetious here, but in terms of pure entertainment value, this house on Military Way can't be beat. I helped the previous owner sell this property in 2020, and it has slowly disappeared ever since. Currently I believe it is being held up by structural paint. Or maybe magic.

#2: Gorgeous Modern. Who says Federal Heights doesn't do modern? I absolutely love the enormous exposed columns and beams of this Penrose house. For me this house just epitomizes cool.

#1: Best House In SLC? I have coveted this house since... well, forever. It's absolutely gorgeous without being the least bit gaudy. And it doesn't hurt that the landscaping always is always perfect. If Clark Gable and Ava Gardner came back to life and decided to shack up in Salt Lake, this would be the spot. Perfection.
