5 Fast Foods To Get You Lean & Strong When Eating Out
If you're a busy dad like me there's not always time to prepare healthy meals to suit your fitness goals.?
And even if you do prepare your meals it can be difficult carrying them around with you if you're out with your family.?
When you have young kids, that can often mean eating out and quite often the choices available aren't always the healthiest options.?
Especially with the Christmas holidays fast approaching.
And if your kids are in primary school there's usually a birthday party to go to every weekend.?
I was out just last weekend for my nephew's 5th birthday and I took my boys along after our time slot at the soft play we all went over to Mcdonalds and my sister treated us all to lunch.
It's situations like this that can be the downfall of anyone wanting to lose weight and get in shape...
...but it doesn't have to be if you simply make the right choices.?
So in this edition of my Linkedin Newsletter, I share 5 fast food options to get you lean and strong without having to carry cold chicken and broccoli around in Tupperware.
Each choice comes in under 500 calories per serving and packs in a minimum of 15g of muscle-building protein.?
1/ DOUBLE HAMBURGER
Let's start with our good friend Ronald McDonald and his double hamburger. The double hamburger delivers;
20g Protein
31g Carbs
15g Fats?
And comes in at only 340 calories per burger.?
You could even make it a double cheeseburger and you’d still be under 500 calories and bump the protein up to 25g.?
Make you don’t make a meal of it though...
It's the soft drink and fries that really rack up the calories.?
2/ Original Fillet Burger
Let’s head over and see the Colonel and his 11 secret herbs and spices at KFC. You can get a well-balanced meal with the Original Fillet Burger which comes in at 475 calories and packs a whopping 30g of protein.?

26.9g Protein

7.6g Fat.?
4/ Costa Large Latte.?
You don't just have to eat your food, you can drink your calories too. Next time you're stopping off for a coffee if you go for a large latte at Costa Coffee you'll get a respectable 16g of protein and just 209 calories. Make sure you stay away from those cakes haha.
15.8g Protein
22.5g Carbs
7.2g Fat
5/ Dominos Pizza
The go-to choice for all the kid's birthday parties is pizza of course. Yes, you can still lose weight and get in shape by eating pizza. But not the whole pizza. You can get away with 2 slices of medium margarita from Dominos for just 350 calories and a decent 14g of protein.?
15g Protein
40g Carbs
16g Fat.?
So there you go...
There you have 5 eat-out fast food meal ideas that are low in calories and high in protein to help you stay on track with your weight loss and muscle-building goals.?
And of course, these are not the healthiest choices, and I wouldn't recommend they become a daily part of your diet, but if you're out and about with the kids and need something quick and simple on the go, that meets your requirements then you can't go wrong.?
Happy eating!?

2 年Nothing like a double double cheeseburger sans bun. I think thought that the key to avoiding the partaking of non-food at these celebrations is to have decided ahead of time that you don’t eat things that aren’t food and plan for it by eating a lot of real food before the event. I think it’s important that we frame this in evolutionary terms. If it didn’t exist prior to 1500, it isn’t food and you ‘shouldn’t’ eat it. If it’s a plant, it’s a starvation food/nice to have/ or flavoring and it should be eaten in (extreme) moderation… Cake isn’t food. No matter how you dress it up, it just isn’t.
