Ambu bachi festival

It is believed that Maa Kamakhya, residing in Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati,menstruates during the month of June, which is the occasion of the

Ambubachi Mela in Assam.It is also during this time that the Brahmputra river near the temple turns red. In the Kamakhya Temple, the festival takes place for four days. The Temple remains closed during menstruation for the first three days and reopens the following day.

Bihu

The Bihu Festival is celebrated in April every year to celebrate the Assamese New Year. It is the largest festival in North East India. During the first day, cattle like cows and buffaloes are bathed and fed. On the second day, people greet each other and give each other shawls, towels, and other fabrics. During the festival, both men and women perform the famous Bihu dance. Sweets and local Assamese dishes are served.

Moatsu Mong

A cultural festival in Nagaland, Moatsu Mong Festival marks the end of the sowing and harvesting seasons. It is held in Nagaland's Mokokchung district and celebrated by the Ao tribe. People gather in large numbers for dancing and singing together. Men perform warrior dances and women sing together.

A three-day festival celebrated during the first week of May, the bonfire where everyone dresses up in their best and prepares local delicacies, brews wine and beer, and enjoys feasting around.

Goa Carnival

The name Goa is synonymous with fun, incredible beaches, relaxed vacations, and amazing beach shacks, and the Goa Carnival continues that tradition with government support throughout the state.

There are fascinating parades with creative floats that attract people to the streets of Goa, and there is dancing and partying all night at the carnival. As part of Goa's Portuguese heritage, this carnival is celebrated in March just before Lent begins. This cultural event is held throughout the state.

A religious spectacle of immense scale, the Puri Rath Yatra brings over a million devotees together every year near Puri's Jagannath Temple.

This yatra takes place in June or July and involves three huge temple-shaped chariots being pulled toward Gundicha Temple and after nine days, back to Jagannath Temple. This is one of the holiest Hindu events.
