As a leading Oracle licensing specialist, our company, Redress Compliance, has recently been recognized
by Gartner. Important validation for us, and thanks for supporting us over the years.
As an expert in this field, I'd like to share some valuable insights to help you successfully navigate your interactions with Oracle.
- Timing Your Deals: Don't worry if you miss Oracle's Q4 deals. Chances are, you'll be offered the same discount in the following quarter. Only sign the deal if it makes sense for your organization. A hint, I used to work for Oracle and knows that you are offered the same day next quarter.
- Java Licensing: When negotiating employee licenses, aim for a high discount. Start by conducting a Java license review to determine your current Java estate. This knowledge will enable you to negotiate from a position of strength. None of the organizations that we speak to are buying employee metric contracts at standard discounts. - Support Renewals: Oracle tends to increase its annual maintenance by 8% YoY. For new deals, cap the increase at 0-2% max. For existing support renewals, consider a multi-year renewal only if you can achieve a 0% increase. Read more on how to optimize your Oracle support

- Oracle ULAs: If you're unhappy with the renewal pricing, opt for an Oracle ULA certification instead. This will save you the license fee you would have otherwise committed. My team and I can help you navigate the ULA exit process to ensure you don't pay any noncompliance fees. The most comphrensive guide about Oracle ULA

- Support Reduction: If you're looking to reduce Oracle support costs, explore all available options, such as third-party support or Oracle Cloud.
