5 Emotional Intelligence Strategy to Take Care of Your Mental Health

Recently, I have been under enormous inner pressure on my decision to become a social enterprise and faced entrepreneurship and social impact fully.

In the last few weeks there were days I don't feel ok about the next journey in front of me. In other words, I don't have everything figure out in the next phase of my new journey.

However, in the last 3 days I have experienced high dose of peace, clarity and conviction on what I need to do and the path I need to take moving forward.

The following 5 emotional intelligence tools gave me the power to take charge of my mental health.

1. Self-awareness: I did a self-reflection about myself and my journey so far. I found out that I had been in a similar situation in the past. And with learning, hard work and perseverance, I was able to achieve my goals and turn uncertainty into certainty.

2. Self-management: I used emotional intelligence self regulation tools like meditation, affirmation, positive re-appraisal and seeking advice from my mentors to re-engineered my belief system and regain my precious peace of mind.

3. Empathy: I looked myself in the mirror and showered my soul, spirit and heart with self-love and appreciation for the progress I have made in the journey of life so far. And I feel so good about it.

4. Social awareness: I did a PESTLE analysis about my industry and environment to have a better understanding on the trend and the direction the industry is moving towards.

5. Social Skills: I identify key partners I needed to work with in order to achieve quick high growth in the last quarter of the year. I reached out to friends, mentors and business leaders to refine my thought process.

Like Naomi Osaka put it in her interview with Time after withdrawing from the French Open to tend to her mental health, "It's O.K not to be O.K."

Perhaps, if you feel overwhelmed, frustrated, stressed or depressed. You are not alone. Nothing is wrong with you. And it's perfectly okay to feel such feelings sometimes.

The good news is the 5 emotionally intelligence tools I elucidated above can also help you to tend for your mental health, regain your peace of mind and blossom in your career, business and life.
