Since the dawn of time, we, humans have worshipped the sun. It's partly because our bodies and our brains are designed to function during the day and rest at night, and another reason is that our biology is set up to work in partnership with daylight. From our sleep cycles to our immune systems and our mental health. Everything depends on it.
Access to sunlight is crucial for living a healthy and fulfilling life, but as our lifestyles changed, we moved into light-polluted cities with dim offices, spending our days on a brightly lit screen. As a result, we got ourselves detached from this vital thing.
So, now without any further ado, let's discuss things that can reverse this loss and help you bring the right amount of sunlight to your workspace. Why the workspace? well, because most people spend a great deal of time at work. (Especially during sun hours)
Let's go!
Install bigger windows - Having generously sized windows is the simplest way to give your employees more access to natural light. This will enable sunshine to stream in and reach as many people as possible.
Try bringing natural light to your work areas - Sure, natural light is bright but it's not as harsh as artificial light. Doing this will not only prevent workers from experiencing frequent eyestrains and headaches, but will also help improve their productivity levels and ultimately that of your whole office.

Finish your walls in matte - Light colours are always a good idea. They make your space feel brighter and spacious. The only drawback is that they produce a certain amount of glare which is not good for the eyes. A matte wall is very much capable of absorbing that glare. So, get your walls the finish they need.
Mimic natural light - Natural light is something that needs to be supplemented with artificial light in offices. Consider installing "Light dimmers" that automatically adjust the lighting needs according to the light present in a space.
Use diffused lighting - You can use frosted glass, softboxes and diffuser screens in your space to eliminate glare and sharp shadows that negatively impact visibility and productivity.
Benefit from your landscaping - Make trees and shrubs a part of your space. Especially if it is on the ground floor. They will protect your workers from harmful glare providing them with the right amount of light they need. In addition to that, they are also a proven motivator for taking breaks outdoors.
We are pretty sure implementing these will definitely improve employee satisfaction in your office. We are also sure that these simple tips are nothing compared to all the other good strategies that are out there in the architectural world. ??
