5 days - can we do better?

High five and a big shout out to my team, my colleagues, my LinkedIn pals and retail fam. We are 5 days from the arrival of Santa. 2 days past the end of Hanukkah and 6 days until the beginning of Kwanzaa.

How are you all doing?

This week, I got to spend my time in my happy place. In the retail bliss that I fell in love with many years ago...getting down and dirty doing the thing that puts a smile on the face of our team, our guest and (honestly), makes me so happy.

I put out shipment. I plugged in that steamer and steamed stuff. I dressed mannequins and I had a ton of fun with our guests. I hauled boxes from a boutique that was overstocked, to a boutique that needed product. I (hope) I impacted our results to the positive. BUT, do you know what I really did?

I was privileged to say, "Thank You"

Thank you to our team members who were more interested in their guests than in me - YES!

Thank you to our team members who expressed how excited they were for their next team member to arrive in 10 minutes, because...they "love" working with them! - YES!

Thank you to our team members who thanked me. I was thanked for opportunities. For a great environment. For encouragement. I am humbled and honored - though, this deserves no thanks.

I am humbled to have met and worked with so many talented people. I am honored to be on their team. Through the mask, I had a blast.

Did we make mistakes? Yes. Did we work really hard to collaborate on ways to not make the same ones? Yes. Can we do better? Of course we can.

The best part. We absolutely will.
