Whenever we talk about marketing, we talk about 5 Cs. We study the 5 Cs to understand the market environment in which we are going to put our best foot forward. A good analysis of 5 C helps a company to create a viable product and deliver it to people to satisfy them.?
Well, why keep this framework to market and company? Why not apply the same to people? After all, we are the final product for society, aren’t we? Our existence has positive and negative impacts on the environment and based on our behavior people accept us. Be it on a personal front or on a professional front.?
Here, I thought of mutating the 5c of Marketing to 5Cs of growth. There can be an “n” number of Cs, which can help us in growing and becoming a better person and I hope after reading this, you will definitely try to create your own 5C framework of growth.?
1. Create
The first C that I believe is important for the growth of a person is- CREATE. Everything starts with creation. We create and we evolve. The very idea of creation is very useful in growth. A person with a creative mindset always finds solutions in difficult times. When we create, we empathize, we try to understand the need of other people and thus we grow as a human.?
A creative person has a plethora of ideas, which he/she convert into beautiful designs. Our ability to create leads us to evolution. If we are not able to create things, how can we sustain the things that are being created by others???
Be Creative, it keeps us alive and makes us human.
2. Collaborate
The second C- Collaborate. Most powerful C as per my belief. We collaborate and we do wonders. There is not a single person in the world who single-handedly emerged as a winner. At one stage he/she has to collaborate with people to emerge as a victor.?
With this, a question arises- with whom should we collaborate?? There is no hard and fast rule for this. But I believe, we should collaborate with each and everyone, who you believe will be an asset for you and whom you believe can create wonders under your guidance. No one is perfect, but at the same time, no one is imperfect. Apply the Pareto principle here, even if a person collaborates with 20% of his capability, 80% of the task will be finished.?
Collaborate, you never know the other person might be the pressure that can convert you into a diamond.

3. Compete
The third C- Compete. Yes, we should always compete with the surroundings and people. Healthy competition always pushes us to do better. A competitive environment is the best place where ideas convert into a beautiful reality. Who thought that a human can break the sub-2-hour barrier of a full marathon (42 KM), but Eliud Kipchoge has done it and It is the continuous competition that he was surrounded with, which made him cross this barrier. Now being competitive sometimes has some negative effects too. There is a very fine line between being competitive and being obsessive and we should be very careful about it.
To let go is also a sign of good competition. Be careful of when your competitiveness becomes your obsession. Stop there and think.
4. Care
The 4th C- Care. The most undermined, I believe. Caring is the most powerful thing in the world. When we care, people start looking up to us. Caring strengthens their belief in us. Our caring nature makes us a person who people never hesitate to talk and they always open up, they start to follow you, not because of your position but because of your personality.
The care factor has a very important role in our professional life. Caring differentiates a leader from a boss. But caring has some side effects too. Being emotional is not caring. Caring is understanding, listening, asking, and providing guidance.?
Care, Afterall this is the very first lesson we learn when we born- from our mother
5. Catalyst
The 5th C- Catalyst, puts us in a position of game-changer. Here, we are not doing anything for ourselves but for others. Sometimes our little push helps people to achieve great success.?I believe, if a person is competitive and works in a collaborative manner with care, he/she becomes a catalyst as a whole. If a person acts as a catalyst, his presence accelerates the whole process. The person helps in achieving results faster without hampering the overall environment.?
Be the catalyst, be the game-changer.?
The 5Cs that I have explained can be different for different persons. The idea is not to follow some framework, the idea is to create a framework, work on it and once mastered, look for a different framework. This is growth, this is happiness.
