Other suggestions for 2nd language migrants – like me – to improve their communication skills are:
- Sign up for Rosetta Stone or Duolingo and practice DAILY (no excuses!)
- Read: magazines, books, white papers, you name them, but do it
- Sing: open Youtube, pick your favourite English tune with lyrics and off you go
- Join a Toastmasters group: they will help you improve your speaking / public speaking capabilities
- Get some one-on-one professional English lessons
What are your thoughts about this? I'd love to know.

5 年Once an English personal trainer taught me something I have been doing since; read always everything only in the language you are interested in. In my adventures of learning English abroad, I met a teacher that also taught me something called The English pathways. It consisted of reading a lot even if you do not know some words of the reading but keeping yourself motivated in walking that pathway. You will mark that pathway (in my case how to speak English as natives do) in your brain and you will never forget it. Then, you must practice elaborating your own ideas and writings and to communicate them with the real world. Hence, jump right away into the pool, self-confidence will come soon and you will be a fluent speaker after all...
