5 Content Marketing trends in 2019....

1. Planning

Let’s kick things off. Planning remains one of the most fundamental principles for a content marketer. Providing excellent content is the goal, but this objective cannot be reached without the correct planning. You must take the time to analyse every facet of your audience; come to understand them and know them intimately. With the Agency we work with a multitude of clients on their SEO and their content strategy. Some will be selling to the everyday consumer and some will be selling to businesses, corporate, the variety is endless. Your ability to produce relevant content will depend on the depth of research into your viewers, after all.

2. Telling a Story

It is no longer naturally enough to create a facade from which to market content – the modern audience is savvier than that. They have a unique ability to cut through the false and the hollow, intending to find the story within. Therefore, the current content marketing trend is to tell that story from the outset. Be authentic, be original, and you’ll soon see results.

3. Voice Searching

The world of content marketing has evolved. It is no longer bound to the written form – instead, we must consider that there is an element of the spoken to factor into the marketing process. Keyword optimisation must not only consider the search engine, but also the verbal question asked to a smartphone or something like Alexa. As a trend, it is one you cannot ignore.

I can really see businesses having to massively adopt their SEO strategy over the next 5 years, I believe that the top companies are preparing themselves for this already.

4. Micro-Influencing

When using influencers to promote content, you’ll find that the more prominent personalities are losing their credibility. This is not the fault of anyone but themselves – they warped the truth and altered the reality of what they posted for the sake of business and views – however well-intentioned it was, all it’s done is erode confidence. Instead, a content marketer would be wise to look to the micro-influencer – someone prepared to tell the truth. They are the new ace in the hole.

5. Artificial Intelligence

The successful content marketer is one who embraces the future and does not hide from it. Artificial intelligence is on the rise in all industries, but in terms of content marketing, it provides you with access to data that would have been farmed over months by people; the only difference is that you have within days.

Thanks to the growth of the AI, marketers can now collect data continuously and whenever they need to, allowing for a more targeted approach to interacting customers. As a solution, it far outstrips the previous methods.

As you can tell, these are just a handful of the different content marketing trends that you’re going to want to keep an eye on over the course of 2019. They all represent a new phase in how we begin to market content to our audiences, and it would be well within your interest to think about them all for your next project.
