5 Common Mistakes every Marketers Makes and How you can fix them

Over 50 million Businesses use Facebook pages to build Brand Awareness among people. Most businesses claim they are not getting the required results with their marketing campaign.

It’s very easy to blame the Facebook algorithm for this but in reality, there are other factors that are affecting your marketing campaign. Factors include:

Goals can vary from person to person and business to business. Below I am sharing the most common goals every individual has while running Facebook ads.

  2. Community Engagement
  3. Sales/Leads Generation
  4. Reaching your prospects

Once you know your objective, you can optimize your marketing campaign as per your requirement.

Targeting Wrong Audience

One study shows that 22% of the World’s total population uses Facebook, This number is enough to tell you how popular Facebook is among people. It is also one of the best platforms for small and medium business owners, making it harder for you to target your audience in this competition.

  1. Location: You can target your audience based on their location, such as country, State, and other particular areas. When you will target the audience of a particular location, it will also lower your marketing cost.

2. Demographics: It includes Sex, Age, Martial Status, Income Levels, etc. While creating Facebook ads, you should have a clear idea of whom you’re going to target, it will help you to optimize your marketing campaign.

3. Interest: If you’ll show Facebook ads based on interest, people will more likely to buy your product or services. For eg. If you own an eCommerce brand of clothes then you should target the people who love fashion.

4. Behavior: You can use pixels that will help you to track the behavior of users and display ads accordingly. It will help you to reach your target audience and eventually it will help you in lead generation.

Most marketers end up setting an ad for million which don’t even convert. Instead of it, One should focus on reaching potential buyers.

While creating a new ad campaign, you can also use the Facebook feature, Lookalike audience. With the help of a lookalike audience, you would be able to reach a similar type of audience based on your current audience.

Abandoning the Ads

This one mistake can ruin the whole marketing campaign. If you want to achieve your marketing goal, you need to monitor the performance of your ads regularly. Facebook provides many features that will help you to track the performance of your ads.

Metrics such as conversion rates, Number of Leads generated, click-through rate, etc. will tell you the performance of your marketing campaign. If you are not happy with the results you can optimize your marketing campaign as per your requirements.


Skipping A/B Test

We all know that with time, the attention span is shrinking by seconds. In order to attract the audience, you need to come up with engaging and unique content. It can only be possible if you keep experimenting with your Facebook Ads.

Even if you’ve created Facebook ads while keeping Buyers persona in mind, there are chances that people will not interact with your ads. That’s why you need to experiment with the content type.

Other than the Content type, you also need to use different Ad formats for Facebook Ads. Facebook offers you different Ad formats to choose from. There are different types of Ad formats for Facebook such as Photos, Videos, Carousel, Slideshow, etc.?

Each Ad type has its own use case, you need to choose the one that fits your requirement and helps you to achieve your objectives. In order to reach out to more people, you need to experiment with the ad type.

Along with the ad type, there are different devices on which you can place your ads such as Mobile, Desktop, etc. It has been observed that Facebook Ads shown on the desktop get the highest conversion. The only problem is that they could be too expensive to afford so if you’re on a small marketing budget, Desktop ads might not be the right fit for you.


Using Ads for sales Funnel only

One of the most common Facebook ad mistakes is using your Facebook ad only as a means to sell your products and services. Instead of being salesy in your ads, Connect with your audience by telling them your story. Build trust with your audience by sharing benefits delivered, testimonials, etc?

If you want to get more leads, you need to focus on telling stories rather than selling your products. Because when people become emotionally invested in your brand, they are much more likely to purchase whatever you sell.

Adding Multiple CTAs

Whether you’re running ads for Brand awareness or lead generation, you should focus on a single CTA in your Facebook ads. If you’re promoting your new products then you can ask your readers to check out the products.

Adding multiple CTA in your ad campaign will confuse your audience, and it will leave poor impressions on your ads.

If you have to send your message to the targeted audience, you need to create an ad that can resonate with your audience.
