2021 was an amazing year in publishing. Many of you wrote books and whether they were about selling, fulfillment, or even fiction - you got it done.
As I set my sights on 2022, it’s clear to me that authors, physical books and publishing efforts will continue trending up. That being said, I thought it would be fun to do a quick roundup of what we can expect in the new year and how we - as publishers and authors -?can use the trends to our advantage.
Statistics tell us that the “average” self-published, digital-only book sells about 250 copies in its lifetime. By comparison, the average traditionally published book sells 3,000 copies. With so many people at home, the appeal of doing it all yourself might be consuming you but, as an author, again there needs to be a strategy in place that supports your ideals around success for your book. When it comes down to it, you need a plan to?? promote?? profit and?? publish.
There’s a lot of opportunity to grow in this industry, with the pandemic keeping us stuck inside our homes and the increasing demand for books. Don’t miss this insightful roundup https://superbrandpublishing.com/2022-publishing-trends/
