5 benefits of using an advertising agency
There are a number of reasons why it’s worth considering the use of a media planning and buying agency to handle your advertising for you:
- Expert Planning
A good agency will be able plan your media to best effect to ensure you are getting your message(s) out in the right places at the right times achieving maximum reach and exposure in support of your wider marketing plan. Often, companies don’t plan their media effectively and sometimes re-run adverts because “they’ve always used that media” or because the ad sales guys have been effective in selling it to them. Using an agency to plan your media from a clean sheet, in advance, is a worthwhile activity that will maximise your RoI.
2. Buying Power
An experienced agency will have buying power. They will be known by the media and they will gain discounts for volume when placing multiple advertising that you will benefit from. An agency will also be able to negotiate rates and “extras” that companies working their accounts in-house might be less able to. Again, value for money can be achieved.
3. Cost
An effective agency will not charge you for the planning and buying service (depending on the account size). They will generate their revenue from commission on sales paid by the media. At Chamois, in return for an annual commitment, we often provide the planning service free of charge so for the company, it’s a free service. What’s not to like about that?
4. ‘Thanks but no thanks’ Service
A good agency will provide you with an advertising sales handling service. This takes the pain out of sales calls for the client as they simply pass the call across to their agent to handle. “I’m sorry but you’ll need to talk to our agent” is a quick way to get them off the line. Having worked an arrangement like this client-side, I can vouch for the excellence of this kind of service that is now part of the Chamois offering. That said, if the agency pick up on a genuine opportunity, they’ll pass it back to you for consideration with a recommendation, having assessed the benefits.
5. Hands off
Once your media is planned, an agency will make it a hands-off experience. You’ll be involved in the final sign-off of the creative but aside from that, the advertising is administered and placed in the background to allow you, the client, to focus on other priorities such as sales.
Here at Chamois, we handle the advertising for multiple clients, as well as looking after their PR. If you’d like to consider our services, please do give us a call.
