There is no doubt that law firms should be producing content on their websites, through blogs, social media, and other channels.?
Whether this is for search engine optimisation, to attract new customers, or to provide informational value, content is key to a law firm’s marketing strategy.?
With this being said, blog writing in particular can be time-consuming and laborious.
Whilst many firms write their blog posts or legal articles in-house, many also do not.?
This poses the question, what are the benefits of outsourcing blog writing?
1. Allows in-house staff to concentrate on their daily tasks
A lot of firms have their own lawyers write their articles for them. Whilst this works for some firms, it is not necessarily the best way to go for a number of reasons.
Solicitors may be inclined to overcomplicate information or use legal jargon which may make perfect sense to them, but to the average person, may be incomprehensible.?
Also, it can take time to structure and write blog posts which subsequently takes time away from income-generating work or fee earning.?
They are less likely to prioritise blog writing which can be harmful to the overall marketing plan of the firm.
It may also not make financial sense to ask a solicitor or paralegal to construct a blog post when it can be tasked to someone else for cheaper.
2. Helps you to stay more consistent??
Producing blog posts is a task that is often left by the wayside as a low priority. Sometimes it is hard to come up with topic ideas and stay on top of publishing consistently.?
With content marketing, consistency is key for a number of reasons.?
Consistency is important for ranking on Google and other social media platforms, it also shows clients that you are up-to-date and on top of legal topics, and it helps build up a portfolio of information so that people can find you easier online.
By outsourcing content production, you are guaranteeing that content will be produced frequently.?

3. You can leave the content to the experts
By outsourcing blog posts to a marketing company or freelancer, you can be confident that they will understand marketing methods to find the best possible ways of boosting your content and reaching your target market.
If you choose to outsource your legal content to a person or company that specialises in law firm marketing, then they will know which topics are hot and what will attract clients to your firm.?
Things such as the structure of the articles, and the number of words used can make all the difference for prospective clients and for Google.?
4. You don’t have to come up with topic ideas
One of the aspects of producing content that often stumps firms and hinders the content creation process is thinking about which topics to write about.
It is likely that good contractors or marketing companies will have an eye on what is trending in the news or be notified of legal updates and reforms.?
They will therefore have a bank of information and topics to write about and will know what will be valuable to your clients.?
This will not only position your firms as experts in the field but will also save you from having to come up with weekly or monthly topics to write about.
5. More content can be published
When your content is being produced externally, it means that you can stick to what you know best and not have to worry about thinking of ideas, researching, and writing.?
This usually means that more content can be produced in mass.?
The more content you push out, the better, as you will be reaching different audiences and be seen on different platforms.
Subsequently, potential clients will start to know like, and trust you.?
