5 Amazing Shipt Moments in August

The heat may linger in Alabama, seat of Shipt HQ, but we’re ending the summer strong. This season we hosted 46 amazing interns, took back-to-school season on the road, and gathered for The World Games. But before we welcome autumn, let’s recap August.

1. Your sidekick for the school year goes mobile

We’re obsessed with delivering everything for school year success—including smiles. The Shipt school bus brought back-to-school vibes to NYC, Boston, Philadelphia, and Baltimore. With the help of Shipt Shoppers and Volunteers of America, we donated 2,000 full backpacks packed with school essentials (valued at over $50,000) for kids experiencing homelessness. 2. Driving impact through investing

Our purpose is to spark the connections that show why every person counts. The Shipt Community Impact and Innovation Grant Program brought this to life with $120,000 in microgrants awarded in our first cycle. Second round applications closed on 8/31, so we look forward to awarding new recipients soon. Learn more about our first round recipients here, and our community mission and pillars here.?

3. Caring = customer service

At Shipt, caring means best-in-class customer service. We’re beyond proud of our recent recognition from Newsweek in their ranking of America's Best Customer Service 2023. 4. Thank you to our 2022 interns

August 12th was bittersweet for the team as we waved goodbye to many of our interns. From data science to content marketing and more, our interns helped us soar this summer. They got hands-on experience and bonded as a cohort while building connections in their chosen fields. Hear from some of our interns in this interview and learn more about the program here.

5. Bringing the magic of DEI to life

Whether it’s participating in an employee resource group, crafting a DEI goal each quarter, or attending an education panel during heritage months, embracing authenticity is a priority at Shipt. Our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team celebrated 3 milestones this month:

1. First, our ERGs elected new leaders to advocate for their success. Congratulations to this team of talented individuals!
2. Second, our ERGs gathered in the Magic City for the annual Synergy Summit, where we celebrated past and new ERG leaders.
