5 for 2025: Big Tech + Salesforce Predictions
Welcome to another year!?
There’s a bit of a buzz around the tech industry at the moment. It feels a little incongruous with the ‘easing back into work/life/school’ thing most of us have grown accustomed to over the years, but in our world—and particularly within Salesforce circles—January is a hive of activity.?
New projects coming online means new contracts, and more opportunities for career movement. Skilled candidates are getting snapped up across the country, and employers are scrambling to find the right fit for their project teams.
So with things moving at breakneck speed, it’s well worth taking a time out to get the lay of the land for the year ahead!
And as Australia’s leading Salesforce and tech recruiter, I spend my days speaking to businesses, candidates, and industry insiders. The tech space is shifting fast, and as we head into 2025, here are five key predictions that will shape the Salesforce and Big Tech job market—whether you’re hiring or job-hunting.
1. AI Will Be Everywhere—But Talent Needs to Catch Up
AI won’t just be a nice-to-have—it’ll be embedded in every workflow, from automated sales processes to hyper-personalised marketing campaigns. Salesforce Einstein is already making waves, and businesses that don’t embrace AI risk falling behind.
For employers: The challenge? Finding talent that can leverage AI effectively. Hiring people with AI, machine learning, and automation experience will be a priority. For candidates: If you’re in the Salesforce space, now’s the time to upskill in AI-driven automation, analytics, and prompt engineering. Hot tip: IT’S FREE!

2. The Salesforce Talent Crunch Will Push Salaries Up
The demand for skilled Salesforce professionals isn’t slowing down—especially for experienced admins, developers, architects, and consultants. Companies are doubling down on their CRM investments, and the skills shortage means top talent will have plenty of options. And right now, we're seeing a huge spike in demand for skilled professionals within the public sector. It appears that nearly every government entity—both state and federal—is implementing a Salesforce solution currently.
For employers: While there’s a relative increase in salary pressure now, on the whole, salaries and contracts aren’t hitting the highs we saw during the pandemic. After COVID, salaries did drop back to pre-COVID levels, but with a big push this year, expect to see a trend upwards. Either way, if you’re planning to hire, move fast and focus on strong retention strategies!
For candidates: This is your time. If you’ve been thinking about a career move or salary negotiation, 2025 is looking like a favourable year. Especially early in the year (like, now).?

3. Remote vs. In-Office: The Push and Pull Continues
The battle between remote and in-office work isn’t over. While many candidates want flexibility, more companies are tightening office mandates. The result? A growing divide between what employers and job seekers want.
For employers: Hybrid remains the best middle ground. Companies that force a full return to the office risk losing top talent. For candidates: Remote roles are still out there, but flexibility expectations may need adjusting, especially for senior roles.

4. The Salesforce Ecosystem Will Keep Expanding
Salesforce is evolving faster than ever, with new industry-specific solutions, acquisitions, and deeper integrations with Big Tech. Staying ahead means continuous learning.
For employers: Be ready to invest in training—your current team may need upskilling to keep up with the latest innovations.
For candidates: Certifications remain king. The more expertise you have in Salesforce’s expanding product suite (think AI Cloud, Industry Clouds, and MuleSoft), the more valuable you’ll be.
5. The Rise of the “Fractional” Salesforce Professional
More businesses are opting for contract and fractional Salesforce professionals instead of full-time hires. This gives companies access to top talent without committing to permanent salaries. Again, it’s worth noting that post-COVID, there was a rapid decline in contract opportunities, but all signs are pointing to a reversal of this trend this year.?
For employers: This could be a cost-effective way to bring in high-level expertise for key projects.
For candidates: If you’ve ever considered freelancing or consulting, 2025 is the year to explore it. Demand is rising, and rates are climbing.

The key? Stay informed, stay flexible, and don’t wait too long to make a move.
