4.95MW Kerta Solar Plant by Chint Solar commissioned in Australia
Recently, the Kerta 4.95MWp Solar Plant in Australia, co-developed by Chint Solar and Green Gold Energy (GGE), was commissioned and interconnected to the grid. This marked another milestone for Chint Solar in the country.
The Kerta Solar Plant is located in Murray Bridge, a small town to the southeast of Adelaide. This project features a heart-shaped patch of trees surrounded by the solar panels, which adorably delivers a bit of romance out of the rows of quiet steel knights. For the upcoming 20 years, this particular view would be generating and sharing the endless solar power in the local community while acting as the "Guardian Angel" of the vivid green life.
The project, invested by Chint Solar, designed and EPC by GGE, started its on-site preparations in March 2022, the construction lasted from 26 Apr to 22 Aug, and the commissioning was completed in early September. There are in total 13,104 pcs of solar panels installed and the expected generation per annum is 9,303 MWh, which could meet the energy demand of 1,300 households and the estimated CO2 reduction would be 9,000 tons every year.

This project has overcome a variety of challenges, in which the natural aspects protection was the biggest. In order to keep the trees where they were, the team adopted the 2P Single-Axis Solar Tracker that made better use of the land of complicated terrain and at the same time boosted the power generation. Plus the employment created to the local community, this project is another sample of good practice of the "Splendid PV" philosophy followed by Chint Solar, in which the core value is that the social, environmental and economic benefits must be respected and none of them would be compromised.
Australia is known for its vast plains, abundant sunshine and clean air with amazing transmittance. In June 2022, the Australian Government has updated its commitment of NDCs (National Determined Contributions) under the Paris Agreement frame, promising that the target of carbon reduction of the country until 2030 would be increased to 43% instead of the previous promised 26%-28%. We see a great potential in this market.
As the project owner, Chint Solar has had a very close cooperation with GGE. Both parties have found fields in which there are complementary advantages and shared resources and mutual benefits. It is a good start for both companies and the two companies have accumulated plenty of experience which is exactly the key to the success in helping to realize the country's climate target on schedule.
