48 Advanced Tricks to Skyrocket Your Business Using LinkedIn (Part One)
There are more than 450 LinkedIn members who are professional, above average income earner, mature, responsible and mean business. This is surely a gigantic market that has absolutely no barrier to entry. If you own a business and not using LinkedIn to boost revenues it is time to turn things around. On the other hand, if you do not have a business and are serious about changing your life just start one.
The tricks are simple yet very effective and you will start getting results immediately. If you apply them accurately it could easily add a digit, or two, to your net income. As the list is too long I have divided it into four parts. Each part will contain 12 tricks.
Below is the first part:
1. Believe
Although this article is not about making money online but you need to reprogram yourself to understand how people make money online. If you have not made any money online in the past it does not mean others have not. Just accentuate the positive and leave out any negativity. LinkedIn is an online platform that can bring you a lot of money selling your online or offline products and services. It is an ocean filled with gems waiting for you to dive in and explore. Develop the right attitude and beliefs and you will suddenly unveil great business opportunities you never heard of.
2. Respect
Expect for scam artists who use phony names and fake pictures of hot models or those who refer to themselves as Mr., members of LinkedIn are accomplished professionals who have excelled in a way or another in their respective fields. Even if they are college students or persons seeking employment they are of a superior status. This is a fact not an assumption, so never forget it while promoting your business on LinkedIn. Professionals you meet on LinkedIn are decent individuals who are more than happy to help you succeed if asked nicely.
3. Learn
The greatest communicators are great listeners so are the rainmakers and super salespersons. Seek to learn through listening to others and reading what they have to say. Listen to learn what the world needs and wants and then offer it through your business.
4. Excel and Become an Authority
Be like a sponge who absorbs knowledge. Do not be like a parrot who restates phrases and statements but develop a mind of your own and promote your own educated ideas and thoughts. Believe it or not, people do listen even without fancy initials prefixes attached to your name.
5. Teach
Seek to project your knowledge to your existing customers, potential customers and even other business owners who are in the same business. Do not rush to ask for return or through a sales pitch while answering questions or teaching something to someone. People will appreciate your kindness and will certainly want to return the favor. They might do this through buying your product or service or refer others.
6. Find Successful People and Copy Them
This might sound lame and lazy but it works most of the time. Why reinvent the wheel? Find a role model or a remote mentor and copy him or her. There are very successful business owners, management gurus, great thought leaders and even common members with positive attitude that can help you develop your business beyond imagination. Find these people and mingle with them.
7. Give, Give, Give and Take
Just like in real life, consider trading and doing business with other LinkedIn members rather than rushing to push your products. Show sincere interest in other members’ products and service and do not to hesitate to promote them among your circle. Comment on, like and share posts and articles by your connections promoting their business. LinkedIn members are so kind and generous and they will surely return the favor, but never ask or rush them to.
8. Never Act, Sound or Smell Desperate
Desperation has a stinky smell that could be detected even by those with sever flue. Just remember, nobody dies because of making no sales unless you are trading on behalf of a mafia don and owe him big money. Take it easy and remember advice #1 about the belief.
9. No Rush, Take Your Time
Yesterday I received an invitation to connect from some website developer. It took less than 7 seconds from the moment of accepting the invitation to receiving a 23-line sales pitch. This was among the rare moments in which I grief about terminating a connection on LinkedIn. I would not buy anything from someone I just met on LinkedIn, would you?
10. Do not ask the dead for coffin
It is actually a saying in Arabic which describes asking exactly the wrong person. It is like asking a destitute for money or a famine casualty for food. There are so many people on LinkedIn who have absolutely nothing to offer. Be kind to them but never expect much.
11. Sell to Buyers and then to Passerbys
Search for customers with urgent needs and offer to fulfill their needs. You need to learn some advanced LinkedIn search techniques for real buyers’ profiles. People consciously and unconsciously state their needs either through their LinkedIn profile or through their shares and comments. After you satisfy the requirements of current buyers start looking for future buyers and entertaining curios bypassers. Remember, do not start by selling to everybody because this strategy seldom works.
12. Never Wrestle with a Pig
Along the way you will come across people who are looking for attention in the wrong way. They might drag you into debates or pointless arguments about your service or professions. Never be disturbed by the presence of such act. On the contrary, praise God for sending such people on your way as they provide the proper background contrast for your artwork to shine. To understand this point consider the fact that these people already have bad reputation around. When a bad person says something bad about you people will take it that you are a very good person.
