During the 19th over of the match, wicketkeeper Aasif Sheikh could have easily dismissed Ireland all-rounder Andy McBrine while McBrine was taking a quick single. However, Aasif Sheikh decided to keep the spirit of the game intact. This little gesture is being lauded by fans and the cricket fraternity. Nepal captain Sandeep Lamichhane was the one who asked Sheikh to not run out McBrine. Nepal might have lost the match, but they won the cricket world’s heart that day. (firstpost.com).

What is the true definition of Sportsmanship? As per Nathan Jamail, bestselling author, the following 4 attributes define the sportsmanship- Not be offended by others success, Assume no one cheats, Strive to learn from others success and not resent it. The team is more important than the individuals.

How much of the corporate and Educational world practices this philosophy? While we give ranks for Highest revenue, Sustainability, Net Profit, University/Institutional Ranking, did you ever announce Corporatesportsmanship/Educationsportsmanship awards?

Can we think of ranking for best cooperation between similar brands in business? How much are they helping each other for ethical business practices? How are they helping each other without grabbing each other's genuine efforts?

Can we think of ranking between Educational institutions who help each other?

Can we think of Regionalsportsmanship awards in a particular geography to promote cooperation among countries?

They sound theoretical but is it not time to raise them for a better world? We see one coaching center poaching other coached students for better ranking? We see one brand damage another's brand reputation for a petty market share.

Students learn professional ethics in their curriculum. But we give least priority to practice. I am sure it is mostly a non-credit course in many educational institutions across the globe! There itself we are giving differential priority to this concept. What are we messaging to the students?

Parents are also equally responsible for this. Honestly, including myself, how many of us train our Children to stand for ethics in the society. We all fear reality!?There itself we compromised our values.

Vidura-niti, or Vidura's Statecraft, narrated in the form of a dialogue between Vidura and King?Dhritarashtra, is considered the precursor in some ways of?Chanakyaneeti. Vidura is held to be a paragon of truth, dutifulness, impartial judgement and steadfast?dharma. He is considered the embodiment of the inner consciousness of the Mahabharata.?He is described as the?prime minister?of the?Kuru Kingdom?and is the paternal uncle of the?Pandavas?and?Kauravas.

In the corporate world, we have CEO, CTO, COO, CPO, CFO, CDO, CIO, CHRO and so on! Time to create a CVO role! Company’s Vidura, who brings neutrality and heads the practice of equality in the organization!

Will you consider appointing “Chief Vidura Officer” in your Organization?
