AI agents are evolving from simple task automation tools to autonomous decision-makers capable of executing complex workflows with minimal human intervention. Unlike traditional AI systems that operate reactively, modern AI agents leverage multimodal LLMs, reinforcement learning, and real-time contextual understanding to dynamically plan, adapt, and optimize actions. This transformation is impacting various industries - such as customer service, software development, or cybersecurity - by enabling systems to proactively solve problems, automate processes, and even self-improve over time.
However, the rise of AI agents also brings new risks, particularly concerning security and reliability. Autonomous systems that act on behalf of users or organizations can create vulnerabilities that adversaries may exploit. Issues like prompt injection attacks, model poisoning, and unintended agent behaviors raise significant concerns, especially when these systems have access to sensitive data, financial transactions, or critical infrastructure.
