45 Life Lessons

45 Life Lessons

This post is a little detour from my usual, but it’s fun and thought provoking, so I wanted to share …?

As women in our encore years, we’ve done a lot and seen a lot. Along the way, we’ve learned a lot. The following list, written by Regina Brett, a 67-year-old bestselling author and newspaper columnist, is insightful and full of good advice. She wrote this list when she was 45. It has circulated the internet countless times, often attributed to her as a 90-year-old woman.?

There are 45 lessons on this list, and so many more could be added if we each had a voice in creating it. Do any of them resonate with you?

Valuable insights for everyone Laura Hess I particularly like "over prepare and go with the flow." I used to teach video students about the high levels of organization on a major production shoot. It's the overpreparing that makes it possible to go with the flow when the flow isn't what you anticipated.

Great list! I'd add one of my favorite pieces of wisdom from a favorite leadership guru, RuPaul Charles, who says, "If you can't love yourself, how in the hell you gonna love someone else?" LEAD YOURSELF - AND LOVE YOURSELF - BEFORE YOU LEAD AND LOVE OTHERS.

My favorite is "What other people think of you is none of your business." It frees me up to do the work I am supposed to do. The list is an excellent start...
