?A product owner is a professional role that leads a software development team. In some companies, it is also called a project manager. This rule has some key responsibilities like determining the product's vision, understanding the requirement given front the business, and writing the user stories based on the requirement. Being a Product owner is one of the most challenging rules of the software development world. Therefore, this rule requires a lot of leadership skills and management skills. This vlog will share the experiences and knowledge I have earned during these 45 days of my product owner journey.??

What went well?

  • ?Separating the sprint for each team makes it easier for everyone to track their work.?
  • Joining retro board and sprint board review meeting
  • Creating sprints on time.?
  • Creating retro board on time.?
  • I am joining multiple one-on-one meetings a day.?
  • Helping team members create Agile ALM accounts for whoever did not have the account.?
  • Pushing everyone to create their tasks on time.?
  • I was pushing everyone to be active.?
  • I was trying my level best to answer messages from everyone on time.?
  • I am sending one-on-one messages to inactive members.?
  • They are getting help from the TS4U operation team as needed.?

What Did not go well

  • I could not join the sync-up call due to my work schedule.?
  • I was late in responding to some critical messages.?
  • Lack of communication with the TS4U operation team.?
  • I could not join most of the show n tell that took place from other team members.?
  • I was having some unnecessary sleep.?
  • I did not get a response to messages from a lot of members.?
  • I did not respond to some important messages.?

Action items that need to be taken for improvement.?

  • Give up on unnecessary sleep.?
  • Be more proactive,?
  • Take responsibilities?
  • Avoid blaming team members.?
  • Always come up with new ideas.?
  • Read every message that was sent within the group.?
  • Make plans for the day every morning.?
  • Make sure to work according to the plan throughout the day.
  • Improve written and verbal communication.?
  • Be more professional.?

Advice?

  • Always take notes at every single meeting.?
  • Do not ask the same questions multiple times.?
  • Be prepared for every retro bora and sprint review meeting.?
  • Create and update your task on time.?
  • Update retro board on time.?
  • Do not miss any scheduled meetings.?
  • Notify ahead of time if you cannot make it to any meeting.?
  • Prepare your questions on documents before going to any meeting.?
  • Do not be late in replying to important messages.?
  • Do not keep any confusion on your mind about anything.?
  • If confused about anything, ask questions.?
  • Do not assume anything, always follow instructions.?

Summarize?

In this 45-day journey, I've gained significant experience and knowledge from every team member that will be helpful for the rest of my career. One of the most important things about being a product owner is that you can learn how to value your time right from the beginning of your journey. I've also known how to deal with different people properly and, more importantly, professionally. Overall it was an incredible journey.?
