Thailand promotion of traditional water splashing for Thai Songkran

  • To celebrate Thai Songkran, the Thai New Year's national holiday, both the Thailand National Tourism Administration’s Shanghai office and Fliggy, an online travel agency owned by Alibaba, joined forces. Last week they launched a “Global Cloud Tour – Thailand Station” livestream. It took audiences to explore Thailand’s scenic views, traditional culture and local food. The interactive event also included a “Fliggy First Cloud Water Splashing Game” so audience members could enjoy the Songkran tradition and fun of “water splashing” online. Songkran has evolved into a water festival and "water fight" shifting from more spiritual roots to a jovial celebration.
