40 years of support for women in Cambridgeshire

Our second ‘3 Streets’ article focuses on the amazing work of the Cambridge Women’s Resources Centre (CWRC), another organisation in the city offering help to our homeless neighbours.

CWRC is an open access women’s centre in Cambridge and Peterborough providing women’s only trauma informed spaces. The Centre was established in 1982 and has a rich history of supporting, training and encouraging women seeking positive change for themselves and their families.??

Now located in a new building on?Sturton Street,?CWRC offers a variety of services to make life and living a little bit easier. They offer practical support and advice on many challenging day-to-day issues, as well as fun and practical informal groups, workshops and networking events.

They welcome all women, whether that’s just for a cup of tea, to join one of the groups, workshops or projects, meet a Support Worker or have a look through the donation rails.??

CWRC fosters a community of support for all women in Cambridge, whether that’s advice with finance, fitness and exercise, trauma support for women who are victims of sexual violence, advice for pregnant women, and reading groups.?

One of the projects run by CWRC is the ‘Employability Project’, offering a range of courses supporting women not in education or employment back into work or volunteering opportunities.??

To keep up to date with the wonderful work and events at CWRC, follow them on?Facebook or?Twitter,?where their monthly timetables will be updated and posted.??
