The comments readers post on digital publications are often harsh and uncivic. But a real-names policy seems to be very effective to tame the online trolls. The Times saw a 40% decrease in toxic comments and trolling after they enforced the use of real names in the comment section.

Beyond Print , a program led by The Lenfest Institute and American Press Institute brings together tips and guides for newspapers looking to reduce print frequency and make the shift to digital.
