40 Lessons I've Learned for Living Your BEST LIFE :)

40 Lessons I've Learned for Living Your BEST LIFE :)

1. Make sure you are climbing the right mountain!

Too many of us are exhausted because we are doing too little of the things that bring us joy and are chasing someone else's definition of success. This is why it is far better to be climbing slowly up the right mountain than it is to be climbing fast up the wrong mountain. When you focus on direction over speed, you will find greater enjoyment in the journey.

2. Stop making your health a side hustle!

The moment you sacrifice your health is the moment your overall well-being begins to deteriorate. Your health is the most valuable asset you have. Without it, nothing else matters. Life is hard enough as it is. Don’t make it harder by not looking after yourself. Energy is earned and not given. It is earned by sleeping more, eating better, and exercising on a daily basis. Work with your body, not against it. If not, you will eventually be faced with no choice but to spend a lot of time dealing with illness later in life.

3. Designing your life begins with designing your days!

How you spend your days is how you spend your life. If you are not prioritizing the daily actions necessary to achieve your goals, you will never arrive at where you would like to be. How can tomorrow be any better than today if you don’t do anything different today? You will never change your life for the better unless you change something you do daily. Care less about results and more about your daily habits. World-class results automatically follow world-class habits.

4. Take responsibility for your life!

No one is coming to save you. You must step up and become the hero of your own life. Taking full ownership of your life is the most empowering thing you can do. The pain of doing nothing with your life will always be worse than the pain of doing something with your life. Most people, unfortunately, are allergic to personal responsibility, preferring instead to complain and blame. Don’t be most people.

5. Have a bias to action!

The only real failure in life is never trying or taking action on the things that matter most to you. The average human life is short—right now globally, it is 73 years—and so you only have one shot at this. We all know deep down that life is short, and we will face death eventually, but few of us appreciate this. If we did, we would make very different decisions. The future is never guaranteed, focus on living in the present. Time is something we can't make more of. Be careful about what you decide to give up a day of your life for because once it is gone, it is gone forever.

6. Extraordinary results come from repeating ordinary actions over an unordinary amount of time!

Much of success in life is built by consistently doing the work that most are not willing to do. If you can’t do something consistently over a long period of time, you probably won’t succeed at it. There is no such thing as an overnight success, only over time success. Be patient with the process and impatient with taking action.

7. Choose your life partner wisely!

Ryan Holiday wrote an article called “The Perfect Spouse is the Best Life Hack No One Told You About.” Your success is their success, and their success is your success. When faced with challenges, you overcome them as a team. When choosing a life partner, be with someone who shares the same values as you and focuses on growth.

8. The hardest times in life equip you with the wisdom to create the best moments of your life!

Just because your past was hard does not mean your future cannot be amazing. It is from life’s inevitable challenges that you experience the greatest personal growth and discover who you truly are. The tougher the times, the more clarity you gain about what really matters and what doesn’t.

9. Public speaking is one of the most powerful skills you can develop!

Your ability to touch people’s hearts and minds by educating and inspiring them opens up a world of opportunities. Develop your storytelling skills and watch your career blossom.

10. Speak to yourself in the same way you would to someone you deeply care about!

The most powerful dialogue that happens is the one within yourself each day. Your mind can be your best friend or your worst enemy.

11. One of the best ways to advance your life is to simplify it!

Less clutter—physical, mental, and digital—paves the way for clearer thinking and more focused action. Nobody performs well when pulled in a dozen different directions.

12. Be fully present when spending quality time with people, especially your loved ones!

Be fully present when spending quality time with people, especially your loved ones. One of the greatest gifts you can give people is the feeling that they’ve been heard, understood, and appreciated. People don’t want your time as much as they want your presence and energy. Wherever you are, be there.

13. The only competition that matters in life is with yourself!

Focus on outdoing your past self, and you will flourish. If you are going to look at others, look at them for inspiration, not comparison.

14. Not everyone will like you!

And that’s okay. When you put yourself out there, some people will hate you, no matter what you do. You’re not ice cream; you can’t please everyone.

15. Get clear on your priorities and productivity becomes easy!

Begin with the end in mind, work backward, and move forward with purpose.

16. Be bold and take some risks!

Not all risk-takers will be winners, but all winners are risk-takers. If you want a life that most people can’t have, you must do what most people won’t.

17. You get what you focus your energy on!

Focus on things to complain about, and you will attract more things to complain about. Focus on things to be grateful for, and you will attract more things to be grateful for.

18. Your network is your net worth

Your life will reflect the standards of the people you surround yourself with the most. When you surround yourself with people who are driven, kind, ambitious, and uplifting, you’ll naturally grow. But if you surround yourself with negative, toxic people, they’ll drain your energy and hold you back. Choose your tribe wisely, because your environment heavily influences your success and happiness.

19. Wealth is not just money—it's time and freedom!

True wealth is having the ability to control your time and spend it doing the things that bring you joy with the people you love. Financial success is important, but it’s only part of the equation. Don’t sacrifice relationships or your health in the relentless pursuit of money. Balance is key.

20. Celebrate progress, not just perfection!

If you’re always waiting for the “perfect” moment to celebrate, you’ll rarely experience joy. Celebrate your small wins—they are the building blocks of your big victories. Progress, no matter how small, is proof that you’re moving forward.

21. Success comes when preparation meets opportunity!

Most opportunities don’t announce themselves in advance. They simply show up. By consistently preparing and leveling up your skills, you’ll be ready when the opportunity arrives. Luck favors those who are prepared.

22. Learn how to say no!

You can’t say yes to everything and everyone. Every time you say yes to something that doesn’t align with your goals, you’re saying no to something that does. Prioritize your time like the precious resource it is.

23. Don’t fear failure—it’s a stepping stone!

Failure is not the opposite of success; it’s part of it. Every successful person has faced countless failures on their way to the top. Embrace your mistakes, learn from them, and keep moving forward.

24. The best investment you can make is in yourself!

Whether it’s through education, skill-building, or self-care, prioritize personal growth. The returns on investing in yourself are exponential.

25. Gratitude is a superpower!

Gratitude shifts your mindset and attracts abundance. Instead of focusing on what’s missing, be thankful for what you already have. The more you practice gratitude, the more joy and opportunities you’ll attract.

26. Rest is productive!

Rest isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity. Your mind and body need time to recover and recharge to perform at their best. Burnout isn’t a badge of honor—it’s a warning sign to slow down.

27. Focus on solutions, not problems!

When faced with challenges, a solutions-focused mindset is what separates the successful from the stuck. Instead of dwelling on what went wrong, focus on what you can do to make things right.

28. Relationships are the foundation of happiness!

At the end of the day, it’s the people in your life who will bring you the most joy. Invest in relationships with your family, friends, and colleagues. They are the source of true fulfillment.

29. Trust your intuition!

Your intuition is your internal GPS guiding you toward the right decisions. Don’t ignore that gut feeling. When you trust yourself, you make better decisions, leading to greater happiness and success.

30. Learn to forgive and let go!

Holding onto grudges only weighs you down. Learning to forgive and let go frees up emotional space and helps you move forward. It’s not about excusing others' behavior—it’s about freeing yourself from the past.

31. Seek to understand before being understood!

Communication is key, but it’s not just about getting your point across. Seek first to understand others, and they’ll be more likely to understand you in return. This principle applies to all aspects of life, especially in relationships.

32. Do the things that scare you!

Growth happens outside your comfort zone. If something scares you, that’s a sign it’s worth doing. Don’t shy away from challenges—they help you grow, learn, and become stronger.

33. Change is the only constant!

Change is inevitable. The sooner you accept it and learn how to adapt, the better equipped you’ll be to thrive. Life is constantly evolving, and those who embrace change are the ones who continue to grow.

34. Know your worth!

You are worthy of success, love, and happiness. Don’t let anyone make you feel otherwise. Recognize your value and stand firm in your beliefs. You deserve everything you’ve worked for.

35. Practice mindfulness!

Being present in the moment increases your focus and mental clarity. Instead of worrying about the past or the future, practice mindfulness to enhance your well-being and find peace.

36. Life is a marathon, not a sprint!

Success and happiness take time to build. Be patient with your journey and don’t rush. Trust the process and know that every step, no matter how small, is bringing you closer to your goals.

37. Surround yourself with positivity!

Positive energy is contagious. Surround yourself with people who lift you up, situations that inspire you, and experiences that empower you. Eliminate negativity wherever possible.

38. Let your actions speak louder than words!

Anyone can talk the talk, but not everyone can walk the walk. Show up and deliver on your promises. Integrity and hard work always shine through.

39. Give back!

Help others whenever you can. Giving back not only benefits those in need but also enriches your own life by providing you with a sense of purpose and fulfillment.

40. Live with purpose!

Live intentionally and with purpose. Every decision you make should align with your values and long-term vision. When you live purposefully, everything else falls into place.
