Happy 4 For You (44Y) Friday,
?
Happy Friday all!? Enjoy this week’s newsletter ??
?
1) ?People too often combine divergent (brainstorming) and convergent (narrowing/selecting) thinking into a single session or flip flop.? Separating these into their own separate sessions and doing them in the correct order will yield higher quality outcomes every single time.? ?????
2) Peak performance is when you are operating in what is called the “Flow Channel”.? It’s the optimal balance of challenge & skill.? Too much challenge & not enough skill, and it’s anxiety.? Too much skill & not enough challenge, and it’s boredom.? To drive flow, aim for 4% harder than your previous best or upper end of your comfort zone.
3) Compounding is considered the 8th wonder of the world.? Habit stacking is the compounding of personal growth.? This is where you combined a new habit with an existing one to make is stick.? And it goes like this...”After (current habit), I will (new habit)”.? Taking advantage of natural momentum helps with forming the new habit.
4) Beware the “Diderot” effect.? This effect is the natural scope creep that happens in our lives where we sign ourselves up for bigger and bigger things.? Example: A couple I knew was renting and wanted to have air conditioning in their rental.? One thing led to another, they bought the house, completely renovated it, and finally had air con after a cool $1.5MM and 12 months later.? Beware of scope creep, it can completely take over your life.

Until next week,
