4 ways you can avoid burn out in your business

As a Productivity Redefined Coach & Strategist I am all about the anti-hustle & anti-burnout. You CAN create a successful business and do life on your terms without all the added stress & pressure....

I've always been an overachiever & overfunctioner. Which has often left me pushing against the grain, in a state of inner turmoil and measuring my self worth on my achievements. Not to mention being a people pleaser, and perfectionist with no boundaries.

So I get it, honestly I do. I've bought a one way ticket to burn out town several times, most times i was able to hop off the train just before the last stop, somewhere around the intersection of exhaustedville and give up street. But twice I went all the way to burnout town, and it's not a holiday I recommend. This isn't something I'm proud of, I was even hospitalised it was so severe. Which is why I was so passionate about finding a better way to work and why I want to help you avoid the same mistakes!!!

4 ways you can avoid burn out in your business:

Be intentional with your tasks - always set an achievable target, don't over extend yourself. We often over estimate just what we can get done in a day, be realostic, you are NOT Wonder Woman. Decide on how much time you're going to dedicate to each task & of course prioritise. As a good rule of thumb you should use the Rule of 3 & only set out to achieve 1-3 tasks a day. Anything else is a bonus!

Have the right system in place - Megan Trainor might sing all about the base, but I'm all about the systems and processes. Life flows so much easier when you have systems in place. When you have the right system in your business, it will save you not only time but also money. Yes it can actually help that bottom line. So you should look at automating your processes as much as possible.

You might be tempted to leave this until....until you are earning 6 figures, until you have some free time to work on it as you're swamped trying to keep up with everything else, until you have all the other moving pieces of the ouzzle in place, or until you can afford to hire someone to do it for you! Why? Because we have so many misconceptions around systems, we think it's not the most important thing in your business because a system will not bring you money. Or they are only needes when you have a team and a 6 figure revenue. Noooooo! This couldn't be further from the truth.

Leveraging systems & automation is your ticket to freedom in your business. It allows you to focus on your zone of genius whatever that may be, creating content, being visible online, attracting your ideal clients and not having to spend hours and hours following up with each of your clients. E.g, you wouldn't or at least you shouldn't send your lead magnet manually in this day & age to everyone that wants it, it would be too tkme consuming & not worth tge ROI instead you create a landing page and an automated delivery. Simple!

Delegate - it's important to understand you can't do it all & know when to get help. You should focus on being you, doing the things that no-one else can do & outsource the rest! You can hire a virtual assistant to help you with admin work or client onboarding, or a social media manager to help boost engagement.

Time off to recharge - Remember, entrepreneurship is no different from having a job in the sense you get time off when you work, right? You wouldn't expect an employee to repeatedly work 12hr shifts, or 7 days a week with no down time. You wouldn't ask an employee not to have any holiday time. Would you? So why do you think it's acceptable for you to keep pushing through, to not be able to take time off even when you are running your own business, being your own boss. Your business won't fall apart because you stepped back for the weekend. Or because you didn't reply to social media for a day. Your body & mind need time to switch off & recharge. sometimes the most productive thing you can do is to do nothing at all, just enjoy your time off work and unplug.

I hope you find these helpful. Let me know which one you struggle with most.
