Ahhhhh! I'm done!
I'm so done with LinkedIn, that I can't keep up.
Anytime I open this app the first thing I see is "started a new position", I got 10+ leads...How about me?
This is so unfair??
Does this sound familiar? You have been posting consistently on LinkedIn for 6 months and there is nothing to show for it!
As you sit at the edge of your bed, phone in your hand, eyes fixed on the tiny LinkedIn icon, and a finger hovering over the uninstall button...?
You can't help but wonder… Am I that bad at what I do??
Stop right there! That's the wrong mindset that you need to get rid of.
If you keep thinking this way, you might just be right...
Let’s borrow a scripture from the bible that says "as a man thinks in his mind so is he"
If you want to get a job on LinkedIn, you need the right mindset.
The first thing to note about getting jobs on LinkedIn is that it differs for everybody.
Jane might get a job 2 weeks after consistent posting on LinkedIn but it might take longer for Joe.
Don't be so hyped by what you see. You will get discouraged by the little progress you are making.
It took me six months to close my first deal.
I had no clue what I was doing.
But you can't take away one thing from me, I was consistently tweaking my strategy.
I looked at other professionals and learned from them.
I made sure I enjoyed whatever I was doing. And then, the job started coming endlessly.
Getting a job or gig here is not for the faint-hearted. You'll be crushed. You'll be discouraged.
But don't you ever try to give up!
Enough with the motivation! Let's get down to the reason you got attracted to this topic.
I collaborated with a brilliant copywriter to share 4 tips that will help you get jobs on LinkedIn till you start rejecting offers.
I know this is not the first time you are reading a post on how to get jobs on LinkedIn, but I promise this?will make you better.
Many people go through these phases when they read posts on LinkedIn:
3 months later: You read another post about a connection that got a new job!?
You send your congratulations message, get a temporary motivation then, repeat the never-ending cycle of quitting!
Note this: To get a different result, you must do something different.
Blessed Akama and I shared four tips to help you get started and of course, fruitful on LinkedIn:
Follow big accounts and leave a valuable comment?
This might be an unpopular opinion but I can vouch for this step.?
No hype! You're reading this post because I left a comment that gave me this collaboration offer.
If I had quit, I wouldn't have gotten this offer.
How was I able to stay consistent with no results?
That's because the future goal was greater than the immediate results.
Here's what you should do...
Look out for 6-10 accounts in your field and leave valuable comments in their posts.
It's time to get creative and quit the cycle of lazy comments…
?Thanks for sharing?
?Thank you (add the creator's name), pick out a point and support it.?
If you have a contrary opinion, you can ask as a question. Be respectful!
?Love this?
?I love this…(name the point you love, why you love it, have you applied it before? Did it work? Do you struggle with it?)
?Great Post

?What makes it great, and how can you relate to it?
There are a million and one ways to leave a comment on a post!?
Doing this makes you familiar with the creator and just like me, you can get an offer.
Don't skip this!
P.S. If your comment is great and resonates with many people, you get profile visits…
And this brings us to the next point;
What are you posting about?
I'm not a LinkedIn advocate who points out what's acceptable or not.
Oh! This is not Facebook! You shouldn't post this here! It's a professional place!
Nah! I'm not about to talk about that…
Here is what I know…
If all your contents are motivational how do you show your skills as a writer, graphic designer, or Web developer?
Your contents can be random but it's important that you also post about what skills you have.
How?
If you're a storyteller - Tell stories.
If you're a copywriter- Give copywriting tips, share the new facts you have learned, and talk about your experiences.
If you're a graphic designer- Post your jobs, talk about the story behind the work

The power of micro-engagement
You see those small accounts you keep avoiding; you don't like or leave a comment on their post?
You are missing out!
Most of them have job offers...don't ask me how and sometimes they can't handle it.
So they reach out to you to work on the project with them for a shared profit.
Also, there might be someone in their network who may need your services.
Tune down your pride meter and engage with small accounts; it might be the secret key you need.
P.S. they leave amazing comments that can serve as reviews ??
Evaluate your posts
Yes, I mean look at your posts and rate based on the audience engaging them, comments left on them, etc. Ask yourself, "have you ever gotten any job or business inquiry?"
It is impossible to do the same thing the same way and expect a different result. Diversify if it is not working.?
Sometimes, you might have to invest in some little training. You go faster when you have someone to lead you.
Like it took me six months to land my deal. But it took many of my trainees less than one month to generate leads.?

Bottom line
Is it hard to get a job on LinkedIn??
That's old school, this is the GenZ era, the question you should ask is…
What should I do to get a job on LinkedIn? Find the answers in this article.
How long will this take? 1 day, a week, 3 months, it doesn't matter! Be determined to get it no matter how long it takes.
Success in your job search!
P.S. don't forget to share your testimonies when the job offers start rolling in ??

Chinedu Junior Ihekwoaba for this great tips here, I will try all these strategies, I have large connections, people are sending me messages that they need jobs meanwhile I'm still looking for job. 2 年Insightful post. Quick question; is there any need/value in focussing your content in a specific direction and building a personality around a specific niche, say someone who blogs about travel, or sports. And is there a disadvantage in being/sharing diverse interests?
