With evolving technology most companies now use Applicant Tracking System to scrutinize the 1st level of resumes. And this is how it works;
After submitting your resume, the software is being used to scan or filter out the right ones suitable for the job application
It's the resumes that passed through the ATS successfully that the HRs or Recruiters will work with and check before further conclusion?
But for some persons, their CVs or Resumes won't even make it through the ATS which is a fail already, and this is why I'll advise you work on the following I'm about to share to be on a safer side?
I've written over 100 resumes in the past three months, and many of my clients have come back to share their testimony. I'm sharing this to let you know my experience and expertise in what I do?
I'm not here to tell you what I heard but to share my practical experience from what I've done and learnt from Top HRs.
1. Keywords of the job should be there on your resume's 1st page. Generally, a section named Career Objective should contain them. Carefully check the spellings and rephrase the key words to match the job description keywords.
2. Talk more about your accomplishments and Achievements;
I see people listing out only roles and responsibilities in their experiences. Instead of saying you married Emeka last year, share the values you have added to Emeka's life when you guys were dating or courting (just an example)
The truth is that anyone can say that they did a job but by listing KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) that would grab the attention of the employer will help you stand out amongst the rest
3. Avoid Excessive Designs or Fancy Templates: I do advise people not to use all this resume app design for their resumes or CV because if your resume must pass through the ATS successfully, then it must not look like an image because ATS deals with words not graphic design or the colours.

Stick to a simple, clean design that will look good on any screen or printout.?
Too much colours and designs doesn't guarantee you getting the job, it's the content that matters
4. Check out for grammatical errors and wrong spellings: This is very important. You might want to write "Made" and mistakenly write "Mad", the missing "e" can result in the wrong message and toning which might cause rejection of the candidate. Ensure you go through your resume or CV thoroughly to be on the safer side
