4 Ways To Heal Your Heart
Not For The Faint Hearted...
Why Open Your Heart?
“To create something new in our lives requires a series of daily steps into the unknown.”
— Dr. Joe Dispenza
Opening your heart isn’t something that comes easy. It can come with a great deal of pain at times. All that lingering trauma that’s been stored in your body shows back up, and you have to deal with it.
Many times we leave our memories behind as unresolved emotions. That might be why you get easily annoyed by your kid throwing a tantrum, or get pissed at the UberEats guy that delivered your food.
What we don’t realize, however, is that those are all responses rooted at some event that happened. Life doesn’t hand it to you on a silver platter. You’ll have to do inner work.
What I can tell you is that it is a holy grail solution. When you free up stuck energy, your whole life shifts. You make more room for the unknown.
The thing is that the unknown can be scary. Especially if you’re not used to it.
You begin to surface all sorts of emotions that trip you out. You may become more sensitive. And that’s fine.
But here’s the crazy part. What’s coming is going…
All that stored emotion is energy. As that leaves your body, you feel less numb. That is why you feel things more. Whether good or bad, you’ll feel it more.
Opening your heart requires a level of fearlessness most people are not ready for. But if you decide to consistently make it a practice, your whole life will change.
You’ll draw more money into your life that you could have ever imagined. All sorts of serendipitous things will start to happen. You’ll believe in yourself more, and crush those limiting beliefs.
Manifestation and attracting the things you want is scientific. Quantum physics is nothing new. We carry a quantum field that circles us. Your heart center radiates a massive amount of energy.
As you free up more space, your heart can bring your life together in unimaginable ways.
Secretly you might be skeptical. And that’s ok. If you do have something within you that wants to move forward with this practice. Then I definitely urge you.
The transformation that comes from opening your heart is worth more than anything else you could ask for in life. The key that opens it can unlock realities and dimensions you never thought even existed.
1. Breath Work Routine
“Be aware of your breathing. Notice how this takes attention away from your thinking and creates space.”
— Eckhart Tolle
The best way to get going with any heart-opening practice is through regular and repetitive breathing. One of the simplest and most powerful techniques is the Life Force Breath.
- You can lay back on a couch or lie down on a bed.
- Start breathing in deeply through your mouth as you inhale. Let all the oxygen go straight into your belly. Feel it expand.
- The exhale should not be forced. Just let your breath go like you’re releasing a balloon.
- Keep repeating the process for 5–10 minutes, or until you start feeling cloudiness and tingling sensations.
- Now bring your awareness to your chest where your heart is. Continue breathing with the same pattern, but this time on the inhale fills both your belly and chest. It should feel like an ocean wave is moving from your abdomen to your upper body. Your chest should feel a slight lift as you inhale to your stomach. Continue this process for another 5–10 minutes.
- Bring more awareness to your heart, and allow for your breathing to slow down. You may even feel like there isn’t much of a need to breathe, and that’s ok. Just continue to do what feels comfortable for your body.
- Increase the level of awareness to your heart. Feel it slowly open. You may visualize a flower opening or the wings of a bird.
- Continue to your practice for however long feels comfortable.
- When you complete your practice, give thanks to your heart. Express gratitude to your beautiful heart that has been there for you since you were born.
As you begin to build consistency with this process, try to do this regularly early evenings before going to bed. You’ll find immediate benefits in your sleep, as well as emotional health.
Breathwork is a very powerful tool. This entire process helps your body clear stuck energy and past traumas. You may even feel reinvigorated and flowing with ideas. Don’t overthink, and let the process of allowing take over.
2. Create Heart Awareness
“What studies are showing is that human emotion, heart-based emotion, is one of the signals that literally influences the DNA in our bodies.”
— Gregg Braden
Just like you have the ability to shift your awareness on another person, or a glass of water on your table, you can do the same with your heart. It really is as simple as that.
You can even have fun with it. If you want to imagine the opening of a rose or even some sort of waterfall, go for it. Getting creative will make it more real. The main thing is that you keep your presence there.
When you first start doing this, it’s better to sit or lie down. Close your eyes, so you’re also limiting your senses. Begin to take deep breaths, going in and out of your heart. Feel the space within and around it. Take notice of the sensations you’re feeling.
As you continue to breathe, feel the space around your heart expanding. I like to imagine the wings of your heart opening. Take note of what you’re feeling. Does it feel stuck or heavy? Do you feel the need to scratch your chest?
Keep breathing into your heart, and gradually build up a tolerance for bringing awareness. You’ll eventually find the process gets easier and comes more naturally.
Keep that awareness while you’re going out for a walk, or in the middle of a conversation. Take note of how you feel. You’re igniting another form of intelligence that has been suppressed for a while, so it takes time. Be patient with it.
3. Self Soothing Technique
“Be like a tree. Let the dead leaves drop.”
— Rumi
Another way to soothe your heart is to bring more energy to it. What most of us don’t know is that we generate that energy very easily. I was once listening to a man named James Van Praagh, a psychic medium that is a leading authority on what he does. Let’s just put it this way, he is gifted.
James taught me how to quickly generate energy by rubbing the palm of your hands. What I didn’t realize then was this was a foundational stepping stone towards understanding energy healing.
I took what James taught me, and I eventually started playing around with the energy. I spent hours at times feeling how my body would respond. I was astonished when I started putting the energy around my heart.
You’re probably wondering at this point on the steps on how to do it. I’m going to share the good. Right here, right now.
- Rub the palm of your hands for two minutes.
- Separate the palm of your hands a few inches from each other.
- Continue moving your hands slightly back and forth until you feel the energy between your hands. Bring awareness to the space between your palms. It should feel like you’re pressing on jello.
- Keep building that energy until you feel it more prominently. When you’re ready, very slowly shift your palms to face your chest. Now feel the space between your palms and chest. You should feel the same energy.
- Continue to hold that space and energy for as long as possible. Your heart is healing with intention, so be patient with the process. Allow for thoughts to flow through. You may feel pain, or you may respond with heaviness.
- Once you have completed the session, give thanks to your heart for being there and for supporting you throughout your life.
You may continue to feel sensations in your heart throughout the day. It’s all normal and just continue to breathe through it.
4. Meditate Regularly
“Meditation will change your life for the better, enhance your physical health, improve your sleep, and help you achieve your goals, both material and spiritual.”
— Deepak Chopra
As you continue developing a practice of opening your heart, incorporating a routine for meditations will help add a solid foundation. You’ll experience more stability throughout the process. You’ll also have better results when it comes to your desires.
It’ll surprise you how smoothly and easily your goals come to fruition. Meditating as little as 15 minutes a day in the morning can set the course of your day and even your life. With binaural beats or guided meditation it can be effortless to get this habit in place.
It is all about intention. When you set an intention, the follow-through happens. When you don’t care much for it, it won’t happen. So really having the desire to do it is the best place to start.
Ask yourself: how badly do you want to make a shift in your life?
My whole life changed because of meditations. With managing a multi-million dollar business and raising two kids, meditating regularly helped me continue to find my peace of mind.
I’ve been able to resolve negative thoughts more easily, and to save a lot of time by making better choices. It really is as simple as that.
Meditations are directly linked to the heart. As you begin to settle in meditation, your brain induces different states. You move away from your usual state of beta, which is when your brain tends to overthink. Beta is when your stress responses are higher.
I’ll introduce you to three other states that shift you away from beta. These include alpha, theta, and delta. Each state can be induced by specific meditations that incorporate these three frequencies.
Alpha
You feel like you’re floating and even cloudiness. However, you’re still feeling fairly alert and have an influx of ideas. This is a state of flow that is productive and creative.
Theta
This is a powerful state for meditations. It’s like hitting the reset button after slipping into theta for even as little as minutes. You literally can’t feel your body, and you may not even know where you are. You feel refreshed when you come out of it.
Delta
Meditations with delta brainwaves can be helpful closer to the evening, as delta states show up when your melatonin levels rise in the evening, as cortisol levels drop.
As you continue to build a solid foundation, you’ll see significant results. Many times I’ve had to pinch myself. Don’t get discouraged if the process takes time. Rest assured you’re on the right track. Always be gentle on yourself.
