"You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it." - Maya Angelou
Most people think of the word ‘wealth’ in terms of money only but, in my opinion, this is a narrow view of what it means to be wealthy. Wealth consists of every area within our lives such as our health, relationships, finances and time.
I firmly believe that our wealth can be broken down into four distinct areas:
Let's take a closer look at the four types of wealth and how they contribute to our overall happiness and fulfillment:
Financial wealth refers to the assets we own and the money we have in our bank accounts. While money can't buy happiness, it does provide security and stability. Financial wealth allows us to enjoy life without worrying about paying bills or being able to afford basic necessities.
2. Social Wealth (Status)
Social wealth refers to our status in society and the relationships we have with others. It's about the people we know, the networks we are a part of, and the opportunities that come with being well-connected. Social wealth is important because it can lead to personal and professional growth..
3. Physical Wealth (Health)
Physical wealth refers to our health and well-being. It's about taking care of our bodies and minds by eating well, exercising, and getting enough rest. Physical wealth is important because it allows us to enjoy life and pursue our passions without being limited by poor health.
4. Time Wealth (Freedom)
Time wealth refers to the freedom we have to do the things we love and spend time with the people we care about. It's about having control over our schedules and being able to prioritize the things that matter most to us. Time wealth is important because it allows us to live a fulfilling life without feeling like we are constantly rushing or stressed.

Unfortunately, many people who work 9-5 jobs prioritize financial and social wealth at the expense of their physical and time wealth. They work long hours, neglect their health, and have little time to pursue their passions or spend time with loved ones. This can lead to burnout, stress, and even health problems down the line.
So, what can we do to balance our wealth and prioritize all four types of wealth in our lives? Here are a few tips:

“Every action you take is a vote for the type of person you wish to become. No single instance will transform your beliefs, but as the votes build up, so does the evidence of your new identity.” - James Clear, Atomic Habits: An Easy & Proven Way to Build Good Habits & Break Bad Ones
CONCLUSION
We all have the ability to achieve all four types of wealth within our lives and only when we do get to this point can we begin to feel the wealth of fulfilment. This occurs when all four types of wealth are at play at the same time and in the right balance. This is the place where we should all strive to be.
Each of these types of wealth requires years of dedication, practice, humility, learning and understanding. It should be viewed as a lifelong process that doesn’t end because there is no final destination.
