4 types of scarcity you can use in your marketing.

The question is what kind of scarcity should I use in my marketing?

You know what, there are multiple types of scarcity that you can use in your marketing.

Think about it.

The number one of scarcity that you can use is by saying that the price of the product is going to increase. You can put a timer over there which is running which indicates that the price is going to increase when the timer hits zero.


Another way is by saying that the bonuses attached with the product are going to expire. You will get the product at the same price even tomorrow, but the bonuses will only be available today or tomorrow, whatever the timeline is.

Another type of scarcity could be the one that Amazon uses.

Whenever you purchase something from Amazon, more often than not you will see something like only one piece left” or “only a few pieces left” on the items that are added to the cart.?

It is also a scarcity over there. It creates a perception in your mind that you should purchase that particular product as it is the only one left.

If you go to sites like “goibibo.com”, you will see “only 1 room left” or “only 2 rooms left’ written over there if you are booking a hotel room. That's scarcity again.

So these are the three types of scarcity that you can use.?


You can create one more type of scarcity based on the limited quantity. You can say that we are only rolling out a hundred copies of this in the initial stages, and it’s only gonna last until the first hundred people will purchase.

The same strategy was followed by brands like “one plus”. They announced that they are rolling out only a limited amount of phones in the market. And that anyone will get it only if they purchased it as soon as the product gets launched, otherwise they will miss it.?

It's simple. It's not like that they don't want to sell more. Of course, they want to sell their product more. But by doing that they want to build up the hype, they want to build this scarcity.

That's why they want the customers to purchase the product right then and there.?

So that is the next type of scarcity.
