4 Traffic Lights Takeaways
The pandemic has hit everyone hard.
However, the most capable will be able to take advantage of the disarray to establish themselves. And the traffic light system may play a vital role in the future of clinics.
With that, I’d like to present to you the four essential tips to get you ready for the things to come:
#1 – Determine the Zone You’re Working In
Before you even think about scaling your clinic, you need to understand which zone you’re operating in. And then you need to structure your business model around it.
However, that’s not always simple.
I call some orange zones “burnt orange,” for example, as they are too close to red.
Find out whether you’re operating in a green or orange area as well.
It can make a difference in your practice.
#2 – Focus on Actions
Your actions go hand-in-hand with your zone of operation.
Build your actions according to your resources. Determine the number of employees, working hours, equipment, communication channels, etc.
Of course, you need to determine your clinic’s rates according to the demand and the risk premium.
And in that end, make sure that you’re able to deliver these actions capably.
#3 – Supply and Innovate
People won’t always ask you what they need. Sometimes, you’ve got to do that for them.
That makes for a perfect opportunity to stake claim to a large group of patients, including those that aren’t necessarily your patients at all.
We’ve already talked about seizing the opportunity to capitalize on increased demand - this is one of those moments.
Moreover, it could be a way to create your “patient avatar.” That’s fashioned after the ideal patient that’s most profitable or makes the most sense for your clinic.
Also, social media is now a viable venue for medical consultation. Over time, these types of electronic services may become a form of capitation too. And you mustn’t miss that.
In conclusion: Prepare for the Worst
The zone that you operate in can change quickly with the circumstances.
If you don’t do anything about it, all the above tips will prove futile.
Think about the gaps you’d have in the delivery of your service and look for ways to fill them.
The best time to prepare is before everyone else.
And get yourself to the forefront.
