Usually the first concrete discussion of salary comes after the company has offered the job, but if you think your expectations are in the high range, it may be important to make that clear early.
If you want to be able to demand a higher salary, you need to be specific about the benefits you will bring and how you plan to help the business improve.
The way to get a higher salary is to explain why it is to everyone’s mutual benefit, not to suggest that to do otherwise is somehow unfair.
