4 Tips to Improve Productivity

As somebody who at times has struggled with managing time or Prioritising different tasks, Below are some of the lessons learnt which would surely help your productivity.

Tip #1 - Write Things Down

The most important tip would be to write things down either on an to do list, sticky note, your diary or whichever you are comfortable with but make sure they are in front of you so that whenever you complete any task, you can check it off from the list which would increase your confidence and will motivate you to finish off all the tasks for the day.

Tip #2 - Don't Multitask

Normally, multi-tasking is considered a good skill to have which enables the person to complete multiple tasks together in less time but in reality, multitasking is a productivity killer. Based on research done by the University of Waterloo, multitaskers tend to lose focus more easily, which leads to more mistakes and even slows you down as some tasks tend to take more time to get completed because of the constant switching from one task to another. Focus on one thing at a time.

Tip #3 - No Distractions

The ability to do our tasks efficiently in the least amount of time is possible if they are done with full focus and without distractions. If you have a habit of checking Whatsapp, Insta or Facebook every 15-20 minutes, there is no way you will be able to complete the task in time. One should minimise distractions to enable different phone profiles that do not notify you about incoming messages or calls or limit who can call you during a particular time of the day. This will improve your focus and efficiency at work without any distractions.

Tip #4 - Allot how much time you need to complete tasks

Another tip would be to allot a particular amount of time to a task in order to keep track of how much time is being given to a task to get completed. You should not check your phone every now and then Or not watch youtube videos while taking a break as there is a chance a 10-minute break would get extended to 30 mins where you would prefer watching some of your favourite videos on youtube.

By following these above tips, one can really improve their productivity which in other words helps them in improving the quality of their lives as well.
