Don’t feel that you need to give mind-blowing insights. Speaking up to clarify an idea, raise a question or point out a resource are fine ways to gain visibility.

Don’t disparage yourself. Saying that you’re no expert or casting doubts on your ideas will leave a poor impression in people’s minds; find language that doesn’t downplay your abilities.

Find ways to communicate other than in person. Having an email newsletter or sending ideas by email after meetings will enable you to make an impression without always having to make conversation.
